the evolution of the underwear

In all my many years of existence, I had seen and worn most of the underwear styles.

undie styles

There are styles that suit me in terms of comfort but some that I dislike because they create discomfort. Now I can say that I had already more or less become a sort of “expert” when it comes to underwear choice since I’d been around in this world from way back when. So let us start with the most conservative ones which are the high-waist, wide-crotch underwear.

high-waist, wide-crotch

Older women still feel comfortable wearing these because they are loose and it is easy to move around and have a good night’s sleep in it. The high-waist, wide-crutch style is also good for little girls. Ironically, as women grow older, the undies start to get smaller and smaller. You should be familiar with bikini style of panty.

they have become smaller

Then something even smaller evolved, like the string bikini panty which only has a string plus a small patch in front. There are other undies that are meant only for sexier occasions. I have not bought any of these but I have seen them sold in department stores–inviting undies, lacy and with holes right there in the middle. Some have naughty prints on them, like "Welcome," "Enjoy the ride," etc.

it's time to "tanga"

Then comes the “tanga” which became an instant favorite since women wearing white pants or body-hugging clothes no longer need to worry about panty lines. It is practically just strings. Curious, I bought one of those, but after using it once, never touched it again for it gave me great discomfort. The string just gets in places you don’t want them. “Tanga,” with its narrow feature does not come close to what a real underwear should be. I don’t know with you fellow women, but I’m more comfortable with the high-waist undies. Then there are undies that are meant to make women appear slimmer. They are called girdles and for me, they are the most uncomfortable piece of clothing one can wear. I mean, it is so hard to wear and remove and if you choose the wrong size, breathing and moving can be a problem. Now I am going back to my original undies.

LOL this is hysterical... What a cute idea to do a story on panties... re: older women still wear these.. Oh heck no,,,. Im older and I tan in a thong. I think it depends on what kind of shape you have kept yourself in rather than age...

In our place, it's "tanga"--in your area, thong. I will never, never wear that again.
