In part: one I wrote about The Bridge to Salvation, in this second part, I want to introduce you to The Four Spiritual Laws approach to witnessing. The Four Spiritual Laws is just another tool in your witnessing tool kit. The Four Spiritual Laws is a tract available from the Campus Crusades Store for a nominal price. The tracts are great when witnessing one on one. I use them to create a Power Point Presentation to use when evangelizing groups and to use in instructing other in their use.

Title Slide: Introduction to the Four Spiritual Laws

Just as the world around us is govern by laws of physics and chemistry, just as human society is govern by statutory laws imposed by the government, so is our relationship with God govern by spiritual laws. The four most important Spiritual Laws are the Four Spiritual Laws pertaining to our salvation.

Slide two: Law 1

God loves you and offers a wonderful Plan for your Life.
If that is God’s plan for us, why is it that most people are not experiencing that abundant life? The reason most people are not experiencing an abundant life is because….
(Bottom of Slide. Elaborate on slide)
Notes on using a Power Point Presentation: The most common mistake that people make when using a PowerPoint Presentation is to read what is on the slides. Do not read what is on the slide, your audience can read that for themselves. Use what is written on the slide as a starting point for elaboration on the subject.

With this slide, I elaborate by saying that God loves us and quote the scriptures that emphasize that statement:
John 3:16 (AKJV) “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
I then go on to tell my audience that God had a plan for us and quote scriptures that assures them of God’s plan for them:
John 10:10 (AKJV) “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Notes on using the Four Spiritual Laws Tract when witnessing one-on-one: When using the tract always read what is written on each illustration aloud to the person you are witnessing to.

At this point I share a little of my own testimony about how I had questioned God’s love for me and questioned His plan for me because I was living anything but an abundant lifestyle. Your story will be different from mind, but this is the point where you need to start sharing it with the person or group of people that you are evangelizing.

Slide Two: Law 2

Sin entered the world when Adam disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit. We all are descendants of Adam, and have inherited his sinful nature. That sinful nature separates us from God. We cannot have fellowship with Him, experience His love for us, or partake of His plan for us in our sinful state.
(Bottom of slide two. Elaborate on slide)

We are born with Adam’s sinful nature. The Apostle Paul tells us in “Romans 3:23 (AKJV) "for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
God created man to have fellowship with Him. He did not want robots that automatically obeyed Him, so He created man with a free will. Adam had the ability to choose for himself whether he wanted to obey God or follow his own selfish desires. When he chose of his own free will to eat the forbidden fruit, fellowship with God was lost and sin entered the world. Today our self-will, whether it is characterized by an attitude of rebellion or an attitude of passive indifference, it is a manifestation of what the Bible calls sin. Sin sentences us to eternal damnation. The Apostle Paul tell us in
Romans 6:23 (AKJV) “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Down through the ages men have tried to bridge the gulf separating him from God by doing good deeds and by living an upright life but no one can earn eternal life no matter how many good deeds one does nor how upright a life one lives. Eternal life a gift from God, a gift is something given freely and not something earned. There is only one way to receive the gift of eternal life, only one way to bridge the gulf separating us from a Holy God, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

Slide three: Law 3

Jesus Christ is the only way you can bridge the gap separating you from God. Only through Jesus Christ can fellowship with God be reestablished. Only through Jesus Christ can you experience God’s love and plan for you.
(Bottom of slide three. Elaborate on slide)

Our God is a Holy God so he could not just overlook our sin. Someone had to pay the penalty for our sins; someone had to die for our sins. You could say that God was facing a dilemma. On one hand, He loved us and did not want us to perish because of our sins. On the other hand, being a Holy and just God, someone had to die for our sins. He did the only thing that He could do; He sacrificed His Son who had known no sin to die on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for everyone’s sins, past, present, and future.
Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God died in our place!
As Paul wrote in Romans 5:8 (AKJV) “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day to fulfill scripture
As the Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:3-6 (AKJV) 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 5 and that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 6 after that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
The risen Jesus Christ is the only way to God the Father
As Jesus told the Apostle Thomas, Doubting Thomas, in John 14:6 (AKJV) “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
It is not enough to know these three laws, there is a fourth law that we must understand and obey.

Slide 4: Law 4

Explain circles and then ask the audience:
Which circle above best represents your life?
Which circle would you like to have represent your life?

We must receive Jesus Christ into our hearts as our personal Lord and Savior; only then will we know God’s love for us and only then will we experience His plan for our lives
(Bottom of Slide 4. Elaborate on Slide.

To fulfill the Fourth Spiritual Law You must invite Christ to come into your life. You must invite him to come in and sit on the thrones of your heart.
Revelation 3:20 (AKJV) "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
John 1:12 (AKJV) “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”
To fulfill the Fourth Spiritual Law you must receive Christ into your heart and life through faith.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (AKJV) "8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast."
To fulfill the Fourth Spiritual Law You must ask Christ to come into your heart.
Are you ready to invite Christ into your heart today?
The Sinner’s Prayer

God knows what is in your heart right now. He is more concerned with the attitude of your heart than he is with your words. You can receive God in your heart right now through faith and prayer. Prayer is talking to God. If you want to surrender your life to God right now, simply repeat this prayer after me,
Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be.

In the next part of this series on witnessing I will talk more about the Four Spiritual Laws and how to use them as well as more on witnessing in general.

It even had a song about it, have you ever heard of the four spiritual laws. Must be the same people I think.
