Why Do Bad Things Happen To Christians?

Ever wonder why bad things happen to Christians? Well, Christians aren't immune to bad things happening to them. So find out how to be an overcomer kind of Christian.

Being An Overcomer

Because! That's why!
How's that for the four year old persons answer? Well, it's kind of true. We live in a sinful world and stuff happens to everyone. It does create questions when bad thing continue to happen to the same person over and again though. Statements like: That person must be cursed. That person must be in for it. That person has bad Karma. That person has the worst luck. That person has a supply of really bad anti-depressants.
But the facts are that nasty stuff happens to everyone. That guy you see in the BMW may have knocked the snot out of his knee getting in that silly car. Or his wife told she wants a divorce before he left for work. Do you think billionaires never have a bad day? I'll bet Warren Buffett has stubbed his toe more than once. I'll go as far as saying he has lost money on a bad investment once or twice. It's not just the wealthy that have a bad either. When was that last time you heard of one of your friends who's not wealthy, or a Christian, have a heart attack? Or have a form of cancer? We see it all the time with celebrities.
But if it rains on the “just and the unjust,” (Matthew 5:45), doesn't it make sense that we Christians experience some of the crud that happens on this nasty world also? And why do we blame God for this? According to Jesus' brother James, God doesn't tempt anyone. (James 1:13). So what's the big deal about bad things happening to us? How do we combat the fact that we hit a snag every time we want to do something for God? Why do we have more hoops to jump through to get from point A to point B? Because! That's why! That really is the answer. It's your turn today to hit your knees and ask God for guidance and direction. Perhaps the devil knows the power of what you're doing, or going to do and can smell defeat. The devil might lose souls to Heaven if you do what you're thinking about doing.
Just the fact that you pray to the Maker of this universe makes you a target of the devil.
But let's not make it easy for him to knock us around. Here's what I mean by that. Whether we like to think it or not, we're human. And we as humans have certain things we might like if we weren't serving God. Such as drugs, sex, lots of alcohol, pornography, or a host of other things. We get tempted towards something we know that is wrong, but we do it anyway. Oops! That's a sin. That means separation from God. Now we have consequences for that sin. God can forgive the sin, but sin comes with consequences sometimes. And this where we blame God for our situation. It wasn't God that brought about the sin, nor the consequences. The fact is, that you gave the devil a sliver of a chance to get to you and he did.
How do we combat this ugly phenomenon? We pray and read our Bible every stinking day, that's how. If you think about it, you'll recall that most of the things you have done wrong, are on those days you skipped your time with God. Or maybe you don't ever have a time set that you are alone with God. That's so easy to fix. Just do it. Make up your mind and do it. I do it first ting in the morning. My father-in-law used to do it right before he went to bed. For you it might be during your lunch break at work or school. But make it a point to do so. You'll truly be surprised how much more Spiritual you think, thus making the world more distant from how you think and act. This is where that Scripture comes in that says: “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James 4:8. But also in the Psalms it tells us: “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” Psalm 145:18.
But even though we have those rough spots we encounter during this so-called “life.” We can always go to God and ask for help during our time of need. I even ask God for an attitude change when it's apparent I'm a bit “cranky.” I know that never happens to to you, (liar), but it works every time. Not right that second, but in a little while I realize that I'm more upbeat.
So, the next time you do something wrong and it has consequences, God didn't get you back for that. Satan did. It's what he does. He's called the devil for a reason. That sap sucker is flat out mean! and he doesn't care about your well being, your happiness, your happiness or the quality of your life. His one goal is to drag you straight into hell. Screaming and kicking all the way in there just makes it more fun for him. So don't give him that satisfaction. Make a decision to serve God with all of your heart, mind and soul. Serve God with every fiber of your being. Get those around you to do the same thing with the same amount of effort. Then sit back and see how many bad things happen to you and how bright your disposition is.
If you're not a Christian, but would like to become one, say this simple quick prayer: Father please forgive me of my sins and cleanse me from my unrighteousness. Please help me to live my life according to Your ways only and not mine. Help me to call on you when things get tough and not handle it myself. Thank you Father. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer, expect a fight from the devil. But since you did say that prayer, God is on your side and the devil will just have to go away every time you pray for strength to defeat one more time. And besides that, we get to go to Heaven together and eat chicken and baklava and cherry pie. It's going to be a great time with all of our loved ones that went on before us. I look forward to meeting you there.
Love ya big bunches!

Problem with a Christian fanatic is that they go on the Lord would forgive every SIN that I commit. Do you really think it is that way??? God gets tired of the constant repeated sinning and goes you are what you co-create now live with your own shit. Well the ones who believe and change for the better are the ones who are helped and brought into the path of forgiveness and abundance as a fruit of their own deed of going the correct way finally. Its with all humans not just the Christians, please get that out of your pessimistic belief that is detrimenting you.

Yes I do believe that God forgives every sin we ask forgiveness for. He is a merciful, loving and patient God. Can you imagine where we would be if He weren't.
