What's Going On Here Anyway?

Christians have more guts than anyone can imagine. Christians are mentally tough! Christians know how to defend their beliefs.

What In The World Is Going On?

Can you believe what's going on in today's world? Terrorists everywhere killing people. Earthquakes everywhere. Here a disaster, there a disaster. E-I-E-I-O! Then there are these four blood moons and an eclipse that are signs of the end times of this world. You don't have to believe me for it to be true. I didn't make the rules or the prophesies. Come on, I'm just a guy sitting in front of my computer trying to make people think I know what I'm talking about. Which is scary, because I do know what I'm talking about. My kids are the most amazed of all, unfortunately.

Luke 21:17 tells us: "You will be hated by all for my name's sake." Matthew 5:10 also says, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." So it sounds to me this is a reality of the world we live in, as it was happening a couple thousand years ago even.

Let me ask an obvious question: How are you going to handle it when someone threatens your life because you're a Christian? Ouchy! That's a really havy question Ed, what in world are you doing? Trying to get you to think about it, that's all. When I was doing a lot of preaching back in my "younger days," I preached a sermon on this very subject. Here's the meat part of that sermon in a nutshell and my goal for this article. It is something we should think about and plan for. So when it does happen to us, we already have a "plan" in place. Just as anyone practices their craft, or sport, we should have a plan in place for when the enemy makes a visit to us personally. What if that enemy is litereally threatening your life? Luke 9:24 tells us: "For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it."

Okay here's a hypothetical situation: Someone puts a gun to your head and tells you to deny Christ or die. It's avery real threat today, even in America. Here's my take on this one. "Let me get this straight. If I deny my salvation and deny that I follow Jesus Christ, you will let me live? But if I tell you that I love Him and appreciate the fact that He is the maker of this entire universe and everything in it, you're going to blow my brains out? So if I don't do what you want me to, you're going to send me to Heaven? I love Jesus yes I do!" It sounds so simple doesn't it? It is that simple, but it takes a good amount of courage and grit to actually do it. Don't let fear determine your decision. The consequences are eternal. This is exactly why we need to have this conversation. As this world continues to desintegrate into ungodly ways and into the hands of those who will harm us, the chances of something similar to this happening to us are very real.

I know this is not a touchy feely type of subject, but please allow this one moment of reality. We are getting to that point quickly when those who hate our God are going to approach us personally, especially here in America. It appears that our government has turned against us. All bets are off as far as to the future of this country, but we know where we stand as Christians. We stand in awe of our Creator and look forward to the day we will be with Him. So if the terrorits are dead set on sending us to Heaven, so be it.

When you get a glimpse of Heaven and what it looks like, and those that are waiting on you, you just want to get there. I want to meet God Himself. I want to meet Jesus, the one who paid the price for our sins and giver of grace. Yer darn tootin I want to meet them face to face! I want to hug their necks for a million years and never let go. I want to see my grandparents, my father-in-law and my friend Howard. I want to meet Moses and Noah and Elijah. I especially want to meet Peter, we have a few things common, like feet in our mouths. I want to meet James, Jesus' brother, I really enjoy reading his book. Oh what a time that's going to be. I even get to meet you there! That's going to be fun too.

It doesn't matter how you get to Heaven, just make sure you do. The best way to assure that you get there is daily devotion time with our God. Read His instruction book every day if you can. Pray all day every day about everything. You're still going to fall flat on your face once in a while, but He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. He's our bestest friend in the entire world.

If you haven't accept Christ as your Savior yet, please make these words your prayer: "Father, please forgive me of my sins. I repent of everything. Please cleanse me of my wicked ways. Please replace that sinful person with a person who loves and worships You. I accept Christ as my Savior. Thank for Lord. Amen."

If you prayed that prayer, all the angels in Heaven are rejoicing on your behalf. It says so in the Bible, look it up. I look forward to meeting you some day. If not on this side of eternity, then in Heaven it shall be.

Until next time.
I love you big bunches!

You're right Jack. It's both exciting and a little bit scary at the same time.
