A short story about pregnancy and all the awkward occurrences that come along with it for all my fellow waddling mommas.

Waddles & Wiggles

Sitting on my couch, watching the baby move a little foot across my stomach. From the outside, it probably looks like something from an alien movie, but it's magical beyond words. Just then the hunger kicks in, like a gnarling beast that's experiencing starvation within me, I know that the kitchen is just a short waddle away. A scoot, another scoot, and a heave and it's off the couch and onto the kitchen we go. Now to play the game of what sounds good to eat like a mad scientist I combine in my pantry, until I make something that would make my husband green in the face appears. A giggle of delight, and it's back to my seat. Waddle, waddle, and plop! I reach to a baby magazine which explains the widening of my public bones and such are the cause of my new walk, and continue to read about the "beauty" in pregnancy. I wonder whether its the swollen feet and fingers, the choreography every time I walk, or my endless tunes in the porcelain karaoke bar I call my toilet that makes this beautiful. Needless to say this is not my first rodeo, and I was just as beautiful with my last little miracle. Once in my arms, pregnancy seems to be a beautiful nine month blur that all became worth it in a matter of seconds. So from one waddling, and a tad bit swollen momma to another, you are not alone in this stunning adventure.
