With Father’s day approaching, you may be wondering what to do. My advice is doing something special, yet simple, such as a movie day. Make some popcorn and eat junk food all while spending quality time with Dad. Here’s my top 5 movies to watch with dad for a pleasurable experience.

1. Father of the Bride

This movie is a classic about a father who is about to give away his daughter to marriage. Unable to face that his baby has grown up, he temporarily goes insane. As my dad’s only daughter, all grown up now, this is the perfect movie to watch with my father as this situation could become a possibility.

2. The Last Song

Starring Miley Cyrus, The Last Song is about a rebellious teenager sent away to live with her father for the summer. Although having some past issues, they learn to reconnect in this timeframe. This is a great movie to watch with your father because it shows how important it is to stay connected with family and you never know what can happen.

3. Cheaper by the Dozen

Cheaper by the Dozen is a family comedy featuring Steve Martin. The father moves his wife and 12 children to his hometown where he is accepting a new job. However, with 12 kids that don’t want to move, it makes for a big challenge. This represents a great movie to watch with your father on Father’s Day. Any situation represented in this film can become relevant to your life at any time. Enjoy a great laugh while spending time with your dad.

4. Mrs. Doubtfire

Featuring Robin Williams, a divorced husband dresses up as an elderly woman to take a job as a housekeeper for his former wife. He does this to spend more time with his children who are in the custody of his wife. This is a great pick to watching with your father because you never know what can happen in life, and this movie shows what may happen in unforeseen circumstances.

5. Million Dollar Arm

A sports recruiter must find new players for his Major League Baseball team. He finds three boys from India that he must teach the game too, and during their time in America, he becomes a fatherly figure for them. For me, baseball with my dad was a huge part of growing up. He coached all of my softball teams, and taught me how to play this game. This movie would bring back those memories, and would be a great way to spend Father’s Day.
