Here are some things that ALL women should learn how to do now in case they ever find them selves alone.

How to work on your car

I don’t mean like major repairs or anything, but every woman should atleast know how to check the fluids in her car and put more in if needed. Being able to change a tire also comes in handy sometimes as you never know when something will happen and you can’t get any help. And you always need to know ALL the information about your car; year, model, and engine.

Repairs around the house

Say your toilet is running constantly or all of a sudden it won’t flush when you push the handle. You should learn how to fix small things like that. It will save you a ton of money from some man coming in to fix it and over charging cause you don’t know any better. How to do minor repairs to water pipes and such doesn’t hurt either.

Repairs outside

If you have a shingle roof and get a small leak somewhere you should atleast know how to patch it up. A banister breaks on your porch or steps that’s an easy fix learn how to do it. Maintaining lawn equipment is also very important. Know about things like which gas to use and the oil and how often it needs these things.

Tools all women should own and know how to use

A screwdriver, a hammer, a saw, a wrench, wire cutters, and pliers!!
If you could learn how to do all these things you would be set. You can do almost any small repair with just these few tools.

We never know what can happen, or when we will find ourselves with no help. Not only can these things save you tons of money but you will feel proud knowing you can take care of yourself if need be.

Stephanie, you have given me the idea to do some articles on these subject for the ladies. I have spent enough time writing DIY stuff for Factoidz that were gender neutral, so now it is time for me to pay a little attention to the ladies. :-))

Thank you both very much. And yes Jerry I feel that all women should at least know the basics of maintaining a home an car. Whether, single, divorced, or married they never know when it will all come in handy.

I agree with all the stuff in this article. I would go further and say that ALL children should be taught these basics because there are very many men who are useless with tools.

Thank you Mike and yes I agree my step father started teaching me as soon as I was old enough to actually help.
