During the liturgy of the Catholic Church, the Paschal candle is lit from the new fire created sometime before. People thank God for the Light of Christ. The night service of the day is celebrated as Paschal Vigil, singing the glorious “Alleluia” – with great joy for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
