The Name Of Jesus

It is no secret - the world hates the name of Jesus but what does the Bible say about the name of Jesus? For your own good read this article.

From Abasement To Exaltation

Have you noticed how our government and non-Christians despise the name of Jesus? Beyond showing agitation at hearing Jesus' name they are trying to stop the use of His name in both the public and private arenas. Proof of this is evidenced in this article.]

I recall an appointment I had at the VA hospital a few years ago to be fitted for new eye glasses. While I waited for the optometrist to attend to me I noticed a letter size piece of paper on the wall with a verse from Isaiah printed on it. I exclaimed to the optometrist my surprise that that paper was allowed seeing it name God three or four times. His reply to me was it would not be there if it contained the name of Jesus.

The lost world literally hates the name of Jesus and those who profess Him. Jesus testified of the world's hate for Himself and His followers. “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.” John 15:18 The apostles suffered the brunt of the Jews' hate for Jesus when they “commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.” Acts 4:18

With this hate festering in their bosom unbelievers unconsciously trample the glorious name of Jesus under their feet but we know it won't always be that way. No, the name of Jesus will one day reign supreme over all the world and He will be revered, honored and feared. Oh, how we Christians love the words of Paul concerning Christ's future exaltation.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11

This was spoken for the benefit of all lost souls - unbelievers. Christians bow to Christ at salvation and forever proclaim that Christ is Lord. Every single unbeliever from Cain to the end of the world will declare that Jesus Christ is Lord. Sadly they will do so in vain out of stark realization at their judgment to eternal damnation. Harsh but true.

Jesus – the name that either draws people to Him for salvation or drives people from Him in unbelief. Where do you stand?

Question: Why would Christians vote people into public offices who defiantly war against Jesus as was seen in the opening article? It would be alarming to know how many Christian votes these public servants, at all levels of government, received. Was one of them yours?

I plead with Christians to STOP opposing Christ and Righteousness. Stop voting for political candidates who are either unqualified or unfit for public service due to questionable character or morals. This is our only hope for a decent country where Christianity can flourish.

This is the first time I've heard that we non-Christians hate the name Jesus. I don't hate the name Jesus. I love both the name and the man. So do all of my 'non-Christian' friends. I think you offer too broad an indictment.

I was born a Christian, but I left the church ages ago. Christians, I observed - not all of them, mind you, but a good many, are steeped in way too much judgment - like what's in this article.

Thanks, Steve, for commenting on my article. For some unknown reason you appear to follow my articles. That's good.

You say you were born a Christian. That is a stock reply of Catholics which shows their general lack of Bible truth. No one is born a Christian but we are all born sinners. see Romans 3:23 and 5:12

One can only become a Christian when they first understand that they are a sinner and need to be saved by the Savior, Jesus Christ. see Romans 10:9-10

Concerning Christians being overly judgmental, that is because Christians are supposed to be judgmental meaning discerning right from wrong.

Please excuse my judgment but I doubt that you are a Christian because of the way you speak. I sincerely invite you to become a true Bible Christian by giving your life to the one and only Savior, Jesus Christ.

GOD BLESS...
