What really makes people happy and what life is really all about through a Mormon teenage girl. I hope you enjoy!

What makes life happy!

My life rocks and I know I'm super lucky to the extreme. But I feel like there are so many obvious ways to happiness that a lot of people are missing out on.
First, you need to realize what the true essentials are to happiness because most of what we have is just excess. Happiness is family, compassion, gratitude, and service. All of these things can ONLY bring joy and always will. You get a certain feeling of accomplishment when you have helped someone in need.
Next, people need to DO these thing! So go out there and live to love and love to live! Look for someone who needs help, say "thank you" more, and show your family you care.
Lastly, make a habit of it and be an example. We as people are insecure and usually don't like to do things out of the norm. So make compassion a norm! The world will truly be such a better place if more people were happy and serving.
I know this is just the super simple basics so I'll give you some specific thing you can do that I guarantee will make you happy.
-Pick someone a flower
-Compliment a complete stranger
-Give a family member a hug
-Smile more
- Take the word "hate" out of your vocabulary
- Get enough sleep
- Name off good things about your life and yourself
- Memorize a positive quote
- Wave at people driving by you
-Bake something
-Play Super Mario with your sibling/child/close friend
- Listen to relaxing music
- Compliment someone again
- And again
- One more time!
- Say "I love you" and mean it
- Get a kitten, seriously it works
- Sing or hum to yourself something happy
- Buy a homeless person a meal
-Volunteer at the Food Bank, Soup Kitchen. etc
- Help someone move
- Say "hello" to people!
- Share what you have

It is good to see that these values are not lost, because with so many young people that I meet it seems they are.

Now I know why the super rich are never happy! Your post touches my heart and if we follow them we will be in heaven while still alive in this blessed place. How we spend our time determines our happiness. Many are taking a one way street with a herd mentality but our hope lies in increased awareness of the need to change direction. Thanks Coral - siva
