Teenage pregnancy has been one of the most fatal social issues society has been dealing with. It is an occurrence where a woman in her teens has gotten herself pregnant without planning for it or without expecting it. According to a survey it was discovered that young women get pregnant before they reach 20 years old. The approximate number of young women experiencing teenage pregnancy is over 40%.Teenage pregnancy definitely a serious matter. Teenagers who have experienced this, and the people who are connected to them, deal with a lot of consequences and life changing events. One of the problems pregnant teens face is the fact that they have no one to turn to. Some are afraid to tell their parents because they are afraid of what they’re parents reaction would be, they are also afraid to tell even their friends in fear that the news would spread, they also can’t tell the baby’s father because they may not even know who the father is or even if they do know there’s a chance the father wouldn’t want anything to do with the baby. It is rather adverse but once it’s there there’s nothing we can do to stop it. And no abortion should never ever be the answer and it shouldn’t even be an option. One you or someone close to you has gotten pregnant at a young age it must be dealt with in a way that won’t harm the baby and the mother carrying it. The thing we need to remember when dealing with teenage pregnancy is to always be open but only to the people you know you trust. It may be hard , it may be frightening it may make them be so mad at you it’ll seem like they’ll never forgive you, but no one should be alone when facing that sort of situation so you need to put your fear and doubt away and tell someone you know would never let you down. The second thing you need to do is to tell the father of your child it’s up to him if he wants to be part of the bay’s life or not. Think about what you would do after the bay is born if you’re planning on keeping it make sure you have the support of your family and friends who are almost like a family, if you’re not ready to take care of a baby you can find a stable couple who are looking to adopt or an adoption agency that would be willing to take care of your baby. During the pregnancy apply for a Medicaid to cover your medical expenses this is definitely important as you would be getting a lot of checkups during the whole ordeal. And finally don’t be afraid to ask for advice. Though it is important to face the issue head on, it is probably better to stop it even before it can happen. Carrying a child is, of course, a beautiful and amazing thing but if the person carrying it is not yet ready it may seem like a problem for them. So we have to do some things to prevent ourselves or the people we love form ever experiencing this. For parents it is important to talk about this issue with your children be open and honest and make sure you’re making them understand the depth of the situation and the consequences of this issue. Teach them the importance of safe sex and the benefits of using contraceptives.
