Sweet And Sour Sodom

Homosexuality is gaining acceptance and a moral status beyond reason and understanding. This article sets forth the unacceptability and dangers of homosexuality.

Homosexuality Is Tainting All Aspects of American Society

This article on the web evoked the following article.

Every facet of today's society is being tainted by the sin of homosexuality. I hail from the article's named state, Maine, and I can clearly remember when neither the word nor the act of homosexuality was heard. Now not a day passes without us being bombarded by sexual perversion of all sorts. Homosexuality invades all aspects of American society: religion, government, education, business and entertainment.

The title names the wicked city of Sodom in the days of Abraham. Sodom, along with four other cities, was steeped in wickedness including homosexuality. The term “sodomy” derives from that wicked city, Sodom, of Abraham's days. The title describes Sodom, a sexually perverted society, as tasting both sweet and sour. Following is my explanation of a sweet and sour Sodom or sweet and sour homosexuality.

SOUR SODOM - One definition of sour is: something distasteful, disagreeable or unpleasant. Certainly all three adjectives describe homosexuality. It truly is distasteful to all whose sexuality and sexual activity reflects God's creation and purpose. It truly is disagreeable to all who know, understand and accept God's design (male and female) and purpose of the sexes (procreation – multiplication). It truly is unpleasant because homosexuality results in a myriad of unpleasant consequences to the body, soul and spirit.

It is indisputable that homosexuality is abhorrent behavior because of God's destruction of the city of Sodom and all inhabitants. The significance of that annihilation is amplified by Peter in his second book. Peter informed us that Sodom's judgmental destruction was to be taken as an example of the coming judgment on Sodom-like cities and people. II Pet 2:6

SWEET SODOM – The sweetness I attach to Sodom is actually the sweet justice of God. The political extortion of Christians to accept and yield to the demands of the homosexual crowd is the proverbial salt in the wound. The wound is the stripping of religious freedom – the right to be an outspoken or practicing Christian. We need not despair, however, Justice is coming!

Justice will come by the Just One as Jesus is named in Acts 7:52 and 22:14. The spiritually cancerous sin of homosexuality, along with ALL unforgiven sinners, will be justly dealt with by the Savior they snubbed, Jesus Christ. How will the sinners be judged? Let me put it this way. They will not be strolling down the golden streets of heaven with Christians. Only the righteous will enjoy the eternal heavenly state while the unrighteous will languish in eternal punishment. Matt 25:46.

Lest I be misunderstood I hastily exclaim that I lament the thought of lost people being eternally punished. I would be happy, and God even more so, to see everyone in heaven (II Pet 3:9) but that will not be. Therefore Christians can be happy knowing that Sour Sodom or its people will not inhabit heaven thanks to the sweet justice of Jesus Christ, the Just One.

Thank you for reading and GOD BLESS

I am sick and tired of intolerant, bigoted, narrow-minded men like yourself who take the Bible literally as God's word - it's not, for much of it was written by men as up-tight as you are - telling us about the evils of homosexuality, as if being gay is a lifestyle choice. Let me ask you, you idiot, do you think anyone would choose to be gay knowing they must endure a lifetime of abuse from intolerant asses like yourself? Of course they wouldn't, but it's obvious your mind is not capable of thinking that deeply. I think, since you seem to have a fixation on this subject, that you are terrified of your own homosexual tendencies. An experiment was conducted at Stanford in the 1970s - they showed gay pornography to 20 homophobes and 20 who were not. The homophobes got aroused, the non-homophobes did not. You'll delete this of course, which is fine with me, but at least you know how I feel. Thankl goodness very few people read the intolerant bullshit you put out there. And why are so-called Christians the most judgmental people on the planet?

Steve, the Bible is God's Word. Homosexuality is a lifestyle choice. When people like you who likes to criticism people who are defending the Bible. You have an opinion and have a right to express it, but do it a little bit better than your comment on this article. I respect you as a moderator and you do a great job at it. But please when you comment on an article that you have different view of the article, then please comment on it a little more differently. Thank you.

Thanks, Steve, for your passionate defense of your beliefs and understanding.

I would like to respond to your comments but it is clearly evident that you do not know God or His Word. Therefore I am unable to relate what God's Word tells us about homosexuality.

I am truly sad for your spiritual state. I will pray that the Holy Spirit will touch your heart and woo you to eternal truth.

I wish you a heartfelt GOD BLESS...

Don't waste your time praying for me, for it offends me that you would make such a sanctimonious statement. It's true - I do not know your God, the vengeful God of the Bible. Only fools and ignoramuses see the Bible as the word of God. There is plenty of holy spirit in me, my friend. If I were you I would make an effort to come to terms with my superiority complex. I received as message from a fellow wikinutter today castigating me as a moderator for allowing your rant to be published, I had to message him back that I am not a censor. You may want to check out the article I wrote in response to him, which will be published later today.

Steve, I feel I should express my appreciation for your sense of and practice of fairness.

If anyone feels they have the right to express themselves then they must also permit others to do likewise.

May I point out the God also allows us to express ourselves as we relate to Him. You freely express your mind about God as I do. The difference is my thoughts are molded and guided by God's Word.

Lastly, Steve, both you and I will be judged by God one day for our thoughts and actions. The standard for His judgment will be His Word.

I have spoken kindly to you and I hope you perceive it so.

GOD BLESS...

The bible only mentions homosexuality a few times, less than a dozen in fact, and not all are negative. However it mentions money and wealth over 100 times as being negative and yet I know of no Christians who have taken vows of poverty. They exuse their wealth in one way or another and point fingers at other issues, such as homosexuality, of which Jesus was never opposed to (Jesus many times spoke against wealth).
As such if the USA is to be punished for anything it will be punished for being wealthy.

I hate to break it to you but, no, neither one of us will be judged by an ersatz god invented in man's image. There is no judgment, period. When you die my friend you will realize I am right, and in your next life, karma suggests you will be born gay and have to suffer the vitriol that will come at you from people just like yourself.

Incidentally, I defend your right to your beliefs and your right to write about them. Another wikinutter messaged me today and upbraided me for allowing this article to be published. I had to tell him I'm a moderator, not a censor.

Steve, as you know, I have refrained from commenting on most of the things you write because my comments would be negative, but I cannot in good conscience remain quiet this time. Contrary to what you and all your cohorts who have attacked Phil for what he has written here will someday stand before the White Throne of Judgment and will be held accountable for what you thought and did in this world, we will all be held accountable. What Phil expressed here is scriptural. Homosexuality is an abomination in the sight of God and will not go without punishment. On the other hand, homosexuals can come to Jesus and ask for forgiveness for their sins, repent of those sins by turning away from their homosexual lifestyle, and receive eternal life. As for Mark's comment about the Bible being written by men, that is true, The Holy Spirit did use the hands of men to record God's Words.

Like Phil, I will pray for you and I will also pray for the soul of your gay relative.

Thanks, Jerry, for your supportive comments. Judging by your truth laden comments I must conclude you are a Christian.

You understand that it is not pleasurable evoking the godless ire of lost people but it is necessary. We have been commanded to speak the truth for which we will also be maligned and hated.

I am somewhat disappointed that more Christians don't stand up either to speak the truth or to defend the faith.

Your heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ will greatly reward you and all who do.

Have a blessed day in Christ.

Mr. Brown, being rich or having great wealth is not a sin or anti-religious. God was the source of the great wealth of Job, Abraham, Solomon and many others.

The negative connotation given money in the Bible has to do with the attitude of those having riches. THEY KNOW NOT OR SERVE NOT GOD - the creator of all things - even the riches that one has.

God is pleased and honored when one who knows Him serves Him with their riches.

I would rather deal with a rich Christian than a rich man of this world who serves money rather than God.

GOD BLESS...

All negative mentions in the Bible about money has to do with the attitude of those who are rich.

Right you are, Brother. It is the love of money that is the root of all evil, not having money/wealth. Money becomes a sin when those having it start worshipping money and what money can buy instead of worshipping God and using their wealth to glorify God, who had blessed them with their wealth in the first place.

Homosexual behaviors are a direct psychological response to the stoic and guilt ridden stance towards opposite genders among Christian fundamentalists. Just a few days ago, Steve Kinsman published an article “Blaming Rape Victims for being Raped”, relating the story of right-wing Christian fundamentalists pushing blame and shame on the victim of rape at a Christian college while disregarding the norms of justice. Remember, the biblical laws that condemns Sodomy, also demands severe penalties for rapists, who actually got condoned and supported by the Christian fundamentalists. Also historically, homosexuality had been rampant among the pious Christian clergy, as much as pedophilia is today among devout priests. So, if one is truly afraid of God’s retribution, than the first priority must be to leave the ilk of Christian fundamentalists. Cheers

Hello all my friends .
Let us be reminded from Ephesians 6 verse 10 onward...that we are to put on the whole armour of God because we do not wrestle against flesh and blood , but against the devil's schemes ,against principalities , powers and rulers of this dark world ...
The devil came to kill, steal and destroy John 10 v 10a , and he doesn't care how he gets people to hell ...
But, Thank God for our loving Saviour who doesn't want any to perish , and who has made a way for all men to be saved ...My prayer is ...
May the convicting power of the Holy Spirit bring people to repentance and salvation before it is too late ..
Many blessings to you
Stella ><
