This simple trick will help to keep your eggs fresher longer.

Fresher eggs

When you spend money for groceries at your local supermarket, you want to get your money’s worth, right? It’s so frustrating to buy things at the store and find out later that they went bad before you had a chance to use them. This happens sometimes with eggs. It doesn’t really matter how many we buy, we always end up having to throw some of them out because they turned bad.

Use vegatable oil

Well, this simple little trick has me literally jumping for joy, because now I don’t have to worry about wasting my money when I buy eggs. To extend the life of your eggs, all you need is some vegetable oil and a paper towel.

Add a small amount of vegetable oil to the paper towel and wipe the entire eggshell of the eggs before you store them in the refrigerator. This trick works great and it will keep the eggs fresher for up to 3 to 4 weeks. That’s a significant amount of time added to the life of the eggs, I don’t know about you but this is a great way to save money and every little bit counts.

I just put the eggs in water and if they float, I break them to check if they are okay using smell as the good ones just sink to the bottom of the vessel and stay there. The rotten egg just floats around....

Thanks Dina for this great tip. Being on my own now, I need a dozen eggs to stay fresh for longer.

I don't really have this problem. With 6 kids in the house, we go through eggs too fast for them to go bad. But I will keep this great tip in mind for the future!
