Overflowing With Thankfulness

When we face hardships of all sorts and much discouragement , it is so easy to lose sight of the fact that we're not in this alone. There is divine help available to us. Many have already made it through life's toughest challenges, enduring far more difficult circumstances than we have. It behooves us to maintain an attitude of gratitude rather than constantly complaining.

Complaining Brings More Discouragement

It takes more than complaining about a situation to improve the situation.

Just because we have not discovered the solution to a problem does not mean there is no solution.

Prayer is actually a weapon of sorts and is certainly a great tool to utilize. So is discussion with trusted friends who have a relationship with the Lord. Having at least one trusted friend is something for which to be thankful.

The Way That Seems Right

There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. This is from Proverbs 14:12.

The Right Way can always be found in Our Creator's Wonderful Book of Teaching on Life and Love. We have to be willing to search it out.

Count It All Joy

We're told in Our Creator's Wonderful Book of Teaching on Life and Love to: count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. Patience seems to be quite an elusive element in our world today. So even though every experience does not bring joy, we are admonished to 'count it all joy.'

If we have food to eat ~ even if it's not what we want, we can be joyful and give thanks.

It's Good To Know Certain Things

The Apostle Paul wrote certain things all those years ago:

“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.

This is found in Our Creator's Wonderful Book of Teaching on Life and Love in the New Testament Book of Philippians, Chapter Four, Verses Twelve and Thirteen.

Want Contentment? Be Thankful

Now godliness with contentment is great gain. We brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. Having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
and to sing praises to His Name,

To declare His lovingkindness in the morning,
and His faithfulness every night

Be thankful for opportunities for higher education.

Give Thanks Continually From A Grateful Heart

The Scriptures are replete with solutions to the problems we face throughout life.

The solution ~ to many of our problems ~ starts with: giving thanks from a grateful heart.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 says
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

The solution will not always be new and brilliant ideas. Sometimes it may be a matter of going back to old proven decisions ~ based off Our Creator's Wonderful Book of Teaching on Life and Love ~ that we know work.

Perhaps we have been told that those ideas are outdated, generalistic, and overly simplistic. Even so, let's proceed with them and Be Thankful.

We would all do well to allow our hearts to overflow with thankfulness!

I think you're absolutely right. Perhaps not realizing that is counterproductive, many people tend to make a habit of comparing what they have or do not have ~ with that of others.
