One Person Can Change The World

The next time you feel like you are just not important remember that you are. Everyone was born for a purpose and should pursue their dreams and aspirations to utilize their talents that they were given. That is what makes the world a better place for us all.

People that have changed the world

The list is long so let’s keep it short. I will start with my favorite which will not win me many points and ostracize me like people just well do too much in my opinion. By inventing the printing press, Johannes Gutenberg changed the world as we knew it and still continues to so, forever. By taking the one thing that was held by the few to control the many, he liberated the masses. We need to do that some more people. Thomas Edison lit up our darkness and gave us movies which was probably a bad idea and portable music which I think was a good one so we can enjoy the likes of Beethoven, whom was almost not before he was. Alexander the Great by the age of thirty three (and who else) changed the world with some help of course (I had to throw him in). Galileo Galilei (I know Nicolaus Copernicus but he doesn’t prove my point here) pointed out we revolve around the Sun (look what they did to him). Sometimes changing the world doesn’t go over so well but dammit you can’t let that keep you from trying. The Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Junior changed and continues to change the world for more people than he even dreamed. Okay, I Googled it and there are way to many people that made a difference to describe here but one them was Hitler and he did and continues to do so today so if you are encouraged to change the world by this writing, please do it for the positive good of all mankind and animals, especially cats because if it weren’t for cats we would probably not be here (ask me if you don’t know). Don’t believe in change, be the change.

People that could have changed the world

That list is even longer. Before they killed him, Nikola Tesla comes to mind the next time you use an electrical appliance remember it was his idea. Before they ruined him Preston Tucker comes to mind even though he did succeed in many ways he did and does not get credit for it, like the next time you get a ticket for not wearing your seatbelt remember it was his idea. If Howard Hughes had not had that plane crash and got hooked on Codeine, your lives today would very different but then again you might not be enjoying Cable (he put the first television satellite in space) television and all the advancements since the days of three channel rabbit ear reception. He single handedly paved the way for modern world wide entertainment that you now enjoy. It was his vision and vast wealth that made that possible alone as was he. Al Gore did invent the internet but Howard Hughes would have first if probably it were not for all that Codeine. The list goes on and on but you should get the idea. How many millions have been killed in useless wars, violence and unborn babies that had the potential to make our lives better with innovative ideas and solutions to our problems. I could have easily been one of them but I dodged the bullet and am here to contribute to the solution of our world problems with my writing abilities, ideas and compassion for my brothers and sisters of our great planet (which does not have a fever btw) and encourage someone who just might have some answers. It is in us to fix our “problems” all of them if we just worked together. I have a plan and I know that I am not the only one if only their voices could be heard above the rhetoric. I believe in all my heart that one person can make a difference if given the tools and resources or find within themselves, to overcome the odds that life challenges us with and believe me life is a challenge.

What you can do to change the world

My Aunt told me one time, you might not be able to change the whole world but you can at least change your little corner of it, she was married to Arthur C. Clarke and I think he understood he did (Google him). It is not about taking from the haves and giving to the have-nots, it is about giving the have-nots what they need to have. We could easily do this without bothering the people that have because it is not their problem or responsibility even though for most part a lot of them give way more in proportion than they really need to already which is evident of their high morale standards which probably got them to where they are to begin with. In many cases it wasn’t just given to them or re-proportioned as you will (Bill Gates).
The next time someone says, “There is no ‘I’ in team” tell them, “There is no ‘we’ in you.” I am out here on limb with no one but my words without a team but I know the world’s greatest contributors to life as we know it so far, were also alone. It does not take a village but a perceived village idiot to change the world. Just keep in mind “they” are not a reliable source, that’s what my momma always told me. I am working on a project that could change the world of biblical proportions if I can just stick with it but I am also the world’s biggest procrastinator, I started this article thirty years ago. Maybe if I, could get a team to help me out then just maybe, all our lives the world over could be improved. It is the only world we have, I know some believe or think it is not but until I am proven wrong, it is all we have to work (together) with here and now. Some one needs to get started and if these words motivate them, then I have done my part. Thanks for reading and remember comments are always welcome; I am not like the “” or “Charlotte Observer” opinions and the freedom of expression do matter to the whole betterment of Society.

I love cats and my dog. Making the world a better place for all humanity and animals, is my goal. My past is very blurry and my future is uncertain. People should know, I am a very dynamic and interesting type of person. I taught Batman self-defense....(more)

In networking to work as a team is needed. For us writers, we also need to network one another ..I remember what Booker T. Washington had said, “You cannot hold a man down without staying down with him.”

I just love this... It is not about taking from the haves and giving to the have-nots, it is about giving the have-nots what they need to have. How true these words are. Mind you, I am not one of the haves by a long shot, I am blessed though.
This article hit me so strongly in many senses. We have had great inventions, only for them to be used for bad, later on but, I do agree, this should not hinder us from trying. I find 'we'
voice how concerned we are of others, yet we do nothing on a daily basis to improve their world or even our own little corner. It all starts with one person, everything does, good or bad. At times just a small gesture can make or break a person. My daughter told me that she misses being in the south and one of the reasons why is, where she is living, people do not even take the time out to help one another. They are all in the 'I'. I mean, like smile at the one that passes by, keep the door open why some one else enters. Can we all just start with small gestures! I agree with ppruel, we here at wikinut are joined, if we like it or not. If we do not support each other than the whole site crumbles. If we take the time to support each others work and each others beliefs, then we all become stronger in the end. It is a team effort for sure and yes, in my book, team does have a 'I' in it. Well done page. As always, thank you for sharing.:)

Change what I can and accept those I cannot - has stood me well. I wish I could have tried a lot more harder in my younger days with more focus. But wisdom comes late through hard knocks in our lives! Lovely take on life, Robb, thanks - siva

I love what your aunt said about not being able to change the world but changing your little corner of it - WOW! How clever is your aunt!! I'm going to add that to my list of sayings. I promise I'll tell everyone it was Robb's aunt who inspired me!

We all got unique qualities in us which can make an impact. If all those qualities are brought together and we're united in purpose, even our useless drops of urine can make a flood and move huge blocks clearing the way to benefit humanity!

So, let's encourage each other and stick together for common good!

Thank you for this very encouraging article! You are so right about one person being able to change the world!!! My heartfelt prayer is that the Lord will be able to use me in some capacity before he takes me home. I am not interested in fame or fortune only in what I can do to help others. I am looking forward to seeing your article about how if it was not for the cat, we would not be here! You have a very dynamic writing style.

I love your attitude towards life
you will be and must be
a good hubby to your
girl friend may be wife
all friends like me
will admire your attitude,
if that be decent and respectful too

we all love your attitude
towards attitude.

thank you for seeking friendship
this world is a maze
Internet is too bloody dicey
some over here are nude
some are stone crude
and many here are
also rude
road rage kind
so take care of your attitude
but watch all those
who barge from behind
many, yes many here do….

Your article is wise beyond words, and is not entirely unlike A.C.Clarke's most famous quote: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
