My path followed...leads me to writing on wikinut. Part 2

You would think that life was going to deal me a better hand. Sadly, no it didn't. Tough times were still impacting my life.

A not so happy birthday

October of 1988, I was out with some (so called) friends at a night club. It was my birthday and I wanted to dance and let loose and I did just that. After I had enjoyed my birthday night and the bar was closing, I heard the bartender yell, "last call!". I looked around for my friends and they were no where to be found. I went outside very upset.

How was I going to get home?

I was not driving that night. It was my birthday and I knew I was going to drink, so my friends drove. Being the good friends they are, they made sure my purse was locked up in their car. So there I stood, no purse and that meant I had no money to get a cab.

As I was standing there

I noticed a car slowing down. In the car was a guy I had been dancing with all night long. He asked me if I wanted a ride home and I accepted. Everything seemed just fine, we were heading in the right direction to my house. I put my head back, to relax and thought, I just need to sleep this mess off.

As I was relaxing, my knight in shining armour turned to me and said " I need to stop by my house for a second.", I said "Okay?". As I sat there, I was starting to get nervous but, what was I to do, it was his car and I was at his mercy.

When we arrived at his house I felt a bit more at ease, as it was a nice neighborhood and there were a lot of houses surrounding his. He looked over at me and said "Do you want to come in for a second?", I told him "No.". He seemed okay with my answer, so I calmed down.

The clouds roll in

He got out of the car and Instead of walking towards his house. He walked around to my side of the car (My stomach started turning), he opened my car door and he said in a friendly voice "Come on in and have at least one drink for your birthday". This time, I said "No!".

All of a sudden he grabbed ahold of my arm and pulled me out of the car. I started to hit him, where ever I could make contact but, I was no match for a 6 foot tall man, weighing more than twice my weight. He started punching me in my face and those punches finally brought me to the ground. He was mad because, I was not cooperating.

As I laid on the ground in a very confused state, he grabbed my legs and started to drag me down the sidewalk and up to his house. With each step he made, my head would bounce off the sidewalk.

Bounce, bounce.

After he took a few more steps, the blows to my head from hitting the sidewalk, finally knocked me out. I awoke to him dragging me through his front doorway and down a hall. Needless to say, I was a bit foggy but, I also knew, this was not a good thing. I was going to have to fight for my life. I started to kick him and I must of hit him in the right place because, he released me.

I jumped up and ran as fast as I could out the door. I ran to his next door neighbors yard screaming "help!", time after time. No one was coming to my rescue. All of a sudden, I was grabbed from behind and tackled to the ground by the monster. He started to punch me in the face and head, I blacked out. When I woke up, he was dragging (face down) me towards his house and I then noticed the fence that surrounded his yard.

I grabbed a hold of that fence with all I had, as he was kicking my hands, time after time. My hands were hurting and I could not hold on anymore. I let go of the fence. He started to pull me back up his walk way and once again, each step he took caused my head to bounce off the sidewalk. Up the stairs we went again.

Thump, thump. thump

I blacked out and this time he was to not only able to get me in his house but, he was able to close the door, I woke up. He made me stand up, grabbed me by my head and started to bang my head from side to side down a hallway. I fought with all I had but, I was no match against this monster. He was just too strong for me.

He pushed me into his livingroom and I landed on the floor. As I laid there, I was trying to figure out a plan. He must have thought I had given up because, he leaned over, put his hands on his knees and was catching his breath. I knew this was my chance to make a run for it so, I jumped up and kicked him once again. This time square in his privates and he fell to his knees. I took that opportunity to run as fast as I could, down the hall and out his front door.

Once I made it outside, I started to yell at the top of my lungs "Please help me!" but, there was no response from those that lived around this monster. As I was running, I noticed a light had been turned on at the house next door. I knew I needed too get to that house and get some help.

I got two feet from the door and before I knew it, I felt hands grab at my shoulders and all of a sudden, down I went. He held me down and punched me over and over again in my face and head.

When he was satisfied that I was dazed enough not to resist him, he pulled me back to his yard. I still had some fight left in me so, as soon as I saw the fence, I grabbed ahold of that fence for dear life, once again. He kicked my hands bloody but, I was still holding on. Then I got that one swift kick to my head and I blacked out.

I was waking up

As he dragged me back up the stairs, my head bouncing off of each step and we made it up the stairs, he yanked me up and pushed me through the doorway.

Once again, my head was thrown from wall to wall, down the hall and that was the last thing I remembered. Until I woke up with the monster on top of me. This time he had a knife in his hand.

I was pleading with him "Please don't do this, I have kids!" and he said in a calm voice, "If you just lay there and let me do what I want, I wont!". I laid there for a few seconds, without saying a word, he punched me in my face and then I said "Okay!".

I had no other choice. I gave in.

After he had his way with me

The monster threw my clothes at me and said "Get dressed, I'm taking you home!". I got dressed as fast as I could.

I have no idea why I went with this guy, back in his car, but I did. He took me home. Well, he thought it was my home but, I made him drop me off a few blocks from my home.

I went to the police. The man was never caught. He also had been linked to 6 other rapes in the area, prior to my rape. I went to the rape crisis center...

Denise, all I can say is that I wish that I had been one of those neighbors. There are 212 bones in the adult human body, I would have broken 424 of them in that guys body and then left him lying there for the dogs to dine on.

Jerry, I know you would have and that's why I likes ya!
Heck, my hubby bought me a shotgun for Valentines day, in 2009. Now, he also had a box of candy and some flowers too boot.LOL
My favorite Valentine present, ever! We have other guns but, I wanted my own.
I am from the deep south and we do believe in being good, decent folks but, we also believe that we have the right to protect ourselves.
If any man ever tries to enter my home, gets through my dog, he will be shot on the spot by me. tyvm!
Thank you Jerry for being so supportive and such a good friend.:)

To be honest Carol, when I first wrote about it all, it didn't bother me.
It was in the editing, that was the hardest for me. Funny huh.
I have talked to young girls about this through the years. My friends have used my story to help their young ladies.
I have learned to put the monster behind me.
My second husband helped me do that and still my hubby, might I add.LOL
He comes in my life, in part 4.
Thank you for the hugs, love them and appreciate them.
Thank you for being just you, you make me smile.:)

why would she write about this stuff and let the world know?
I would answer... well, to help others that were raped and because...
I didn't do the bad deed, he did. I feel no shame.

"I didn't do the bad deed, he did. I feel no shame." - Exactly!!! I know what you mean and I'm so glad you said it! We have no control over other people's actions and its no more shameful than a car accident! The truly s* part is that the scars that most can't see seem to scream out to every predator around. I'm glad you've found happiness, Denise. You truly deserve it.

I have had the love of two dogs for 14 and 12 years, that both just passed in May 2009 and May 2010.
I have my sweet wonderful brother that lives with me. I have my Buggah.

ghazala, Thank you for taking the time to visit both pages and for your kind words.
Our Mother passed away in 2009 and sadly, she lived with him until she went in the hospital and passed away
5 weeks later.
My older brother whom is mentally challenged is a sweetheart and lives with me.
My younger brother is in jail and he is as abusive and as much of a alcoholic as Dad.
My older sister sadly, went down my mother's path of being abused but also,
she became a abuser herself to her child and she too is a alcoholic.
I, like my older brother, broke the cycle of abuse and alcoholism.
God has blessed me so much over the years, my heart is full of nothing but love.

Blosson, I will not say this was a easy time in my life but, I do feel lucky. He left me alive, others women he attacked were not so lucky, sadly. We all have bad things happen to us and like too many women this happen to, this was a dark time in my life. This story actually has turned into a positive though, I have shared this story with my daughter and her friends (at a request from their mothers) because they thought nothing could happen to them. After my story they started to look after each other and themselves. I have friends that have shared my story with their daughters also. As long as I can help someone then it was all worth it. Thank you Jonathan for your kind words. I hear ya Jonathan, it not only hurts you physically but, it hurts so much mentally. My blood pressure goes up a bit every time I see where a ass like this gets only a year or two, after they have raped a woman or a man. I can honestly say this fool has no hold on me in the least but, he did for one day too long. I also feel that we all have our own share of crap delt to us and I also believe how you deal with it, is the key. At first it was not easy, I will admit that. In time you have to decide if you are going to allow the monster to keep ahold of you or, are you going to release him and carry on with your life. I am a bit more cautious and that is about all I kept of that night. Thank you for stopping by.:)
