47 Years of love and all of a sudden tragedy in health, relationship, and faith trounced on, hope tossed aside, love torn in many pieces. Life has become a struggle just to stay together and hold on to my Annie Mae!

My Special Lady Annie Mae

Oh how I long for my wife in years gone by.
When we were resting in the arms of our Lord
Oh we never had the riches of this world you see
But all of our needs were met for all our family.

We never pretended to keep up with the Jones.
We helped the sick and those who had troubled lives.
We gave of the blessings that we received from God
We served and worshiped Him wherever we did trod.

Many are the years that have passed on that journey
My Annie Mae was a First Lady who handled her load
Played the piano for Buds of Promise and kept them in style
I just loved to hear her sing with a great Christian Smile

She was with me in Appalachia and in Virginia Beach too
My first lady by my side a helper and a love God gave to me
In Florida,Indiana, her voice in song and praise everyday
She was my special gift in life, my wife, My Annie Mae

So today after forty seven years with me on the battlefield
When it is evident our strength is sapped out of our bones
I say I wish you Happy Birthday Ann and I hope a few more.
I pray above my Annie Mae we will Sing on God's Celestial Shore
