As a mom I know that It is through the mouth that he experiences pleasure, nurture and love.

Another Milestone Reached

I would describe my little boy a drooling machine when he was 5 months old. He was putting his fist in his mouth. I already knew that a tooth was coming and he was ready to break skin. A few days after, I noticed that two bottom teeth are starting to came in.
Pedia said that the average age for getting a first baby tooth is 6 months, but my eldest didn't got his first tooth until he was 12 months.

Me and my husband, as parents are very happy and wanted to share our baby's milestones. We have told everyone about it and even planned to celebrate with a small family gathering.

However, I have known that there are cultures have had traditions when a child's first tooth appeared.

I have read that some Christians in Finland and Estonia can only have a child's baptized until after the first tooth appeared. And the baby was given a tooth money after the baptism.

While the Ancient Scandivinians were also known to tie a fang of a wolf or boar around a teething baby;s neck to encourage the growth of strong teeth.

An old Jewish folk tradition had parents showering the baby's head with candy.

See how proud parents are to witness another milestone for their babies?

My child got his first tooth at 14 months. He had four of them coming at the same time on the upper jaw and his lower teeth coming at 22 months. He is still getting his grinders although he is now 7 years old.

14 months,i guess he was already walking when the first tooth came in. some say it can also depend when the parents or other close relatives also got their teeth.
