Jesus Said Come As You Are

Jesus tells us to come as we are to Him. We don't have to have our act together to come to Him. Come just the way you are, regardless of your situation. Just come anyway.

Come Just As You Are

Jesus tells us to come as we are. Regardless of what label you have put on yourself. Come as you are. Regardless of past hurts. Come as you are. Regardless of how much of a low life scum suckin snot ball you are. Come just as you are. Matthew 11:28 tells us: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Ya baby!! That means you!! I don't see any exclusions in that verse. It doesn't matter how beautiful you are, or not. It doesn't matter how smart you are, or not. It doesn't matter if you drive a luxury car or a donkey.
Everyone of us have had a day or two; okay, a bazillion of 'em where we got weary. Weary in our very being, down to our very core. When that has happened to me in times past, it's flat out rocked my world. And I've cried out loud, like a little girl who got her candy stolen by Godzilla. But then I've cried out to God and soon life is okay again. Not perfect that quickly, but the light at the end of the tunnel is shining again. But within a short time things are back to great and I can smile agan.
Somehow this world has the idea that you have to get your act together before you can approach God and ask forgiveness. That Scripture there proves that to be incorrect. Romans 10:13 also tells us: “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord SHALL be saved.” (Emphasis mine). Again there is nothing to exclude anyone. So all of us that want to be saved need to simply ask for it and it's ours. How simple can it get? It can't get any more simple than that.
Don't try to over think it, just accept it. Being a Christian and living the lifestyle of a Christian involves faith. Faith is faith, not intellect. It's an act of the heart, not the brain. It's something that permeates our core being and can't be explained my mere mortal words. It's an ongoing Spiritual experience and not open to debate.
Vast millions have come up with other theories and opinions that try to sidetrack us from following Christ. But they can only take you so far. They don't reach all the way to Jesus Christ and an eternity in Heaven. Jesus tells in John 14:16: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through me.” So praying to any other god or deity is going to come up short. Meditating and chanting may make you feel better, but again, fall short of an eternity in Heaven with Christ. There are millions of other ideas that are super spiritual, yet have nothing to do with Christ and Salvation from our just reward. The people involved in these activities for the most part, are really nice people. Very sincere and sweet as a person can get. But getting to Heaven is so much easier than all that.
The fact is that Jesus Christ already paid the debt for sins. Jesus already paid the price with His death, His pain, His suffering and His love for us. With that one action and sacrifice, we get to go to Heaven and we don't deserve it at all. But to get to Heaven all we need to do is simply ask forgiveness. It really that simple.
Can you see Jesus standing in front of you with arms outstretched in your direction, waiting for you to walk into His big fat hug. Can you see that big beautiful smile that lights up His entire face as you make eye contact with Him? There He is, right there waiting for you. All you have to do is start walking in His direction and He'll run to you. Let Him wrap those loving arms around you and say this simple prayer “Jesus forgive me. Thank you for Your sacrifice. I accept you as my Savior. Thank you Jesus. Amen.”
It really is that simple without any kidding, or joking, or hidden agenda. If you just asked Jesus into your life just now, you're a Christian and that's all there was to it. Welcome to the family of God. We're going to have some visiting in Heaven when we get there together.
Now go find a Bible teaching church on your are and get plugged into it. If you can't find one, chances are you might know a Christian. Ask them which church they attend and perhaps tag along.
May God richly bless as you walk with Him.

Ed I'm glad He accepted me just as I am. And because of that I have found a peace that passes all understanding.
