It's a Spiritual war for your very soul. You're in this war whether you think so or not. Are you equipped for such a war on your soul?

It's A Spritual War And You're Acrively Involved

A Spiritual war you say? What do I mean by “Spiritual war?” It's a “WAR” for your very soul! Nothing less than your soul is at stake, perhaps it should be taken seriously. But a war, a Spiritual war? How does one fight a “Spiritual war?” On a spiritual platform is the answer to that question. The Bible tells us this in Ephesians 6:12: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the ruler, against the powers, against the the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” If we could see the demons and angels flying around actively engaged in this war, I firmly believe we would die of fright. I'm not kidding. I know it would scare me beyond any fear I've ever felt before. Frank Peretti wrote some novels back in the '80's or '90's that actually described this war and how ugly the demons were. The books were very well written and, no kidding, I had to read them in a well lit room. They scared the jeebers out of me that bad. I'm not kidding, it's the truth.
Are you equipped for such a war? You're right smack dab in the middle of the battle ground, give it the attention it deserves. It must be given the utmost importance in your life! Never in the history of mankind has this war been more in our face. The war I'm referring to is the one on an individual basis. Right in the middle of your very being. What you believe and what you , are at the very fiber of this war. Your very persona is involved. The person you are, what your goals are, where you live and who you pray to or not, is at the very core of this war. It involves God and satan and who you devote your life to.
Where do you want to spend eternity? God is willing to let you live in Heaven, just follow the road to get there. Conversely, satan would offer you an eternity with him, all you have to do is follow the road to get there as well. But those two roads lead in exactly opposite directions. One road leads to utter destruction and all out horror. The other leads to a peaceful, overwhelmingly beautiful place. Streets of gold. Trees that bear fruit every month. People who genuinely love you and smile all the time. It's your choice and yours alone. Making a split decision to go into hell because that's where all your friends are going is still hell. A place of screaming and horror and biting each other is a far cry from Heaven. It doesn't sound like your friends are going to be very friendly in such a place. Heaven however, sounds like the kind of friends I would like to have here on earth and in Heaven. But that's just me.
There are so few “rules,” if you will, in order to go to either place. In order to go to hell you MUST turn your back on God and reject Jesus' sacrifice for your very life, in order to spend eternity in hell. In order to go to Heaven all you have to do is ACCEPT God's sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ, in order to go to Heaven for eternity. Again, the “rules” are very simple, either way. Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:13-14: “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” So we can blindly follow the masses, or we can make our own decision. John 3:16 tells us: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” God set the stage for you to be a winner from the very foundation of this world. It's our decision to follow him, or consciously walk away.
In today's society we have everything but God or Jesus thrown at us. Our media gives us filth, sex, perversion of every kind to watch on TV and listen to on the radio if we wish. We have Pastors that aren't willing to talk about the price Jesus paid on the cross for us, because someone might get offended. We have ways of becoming spiritual but not Godly. Okay, but look at this entire paragraph in a “spiritual sense.” If God is the way to heaven, and the devil is trying to get us to look elsewhere, wouldn't it make sense for all of this to exist? And if we miss Heaven by just a little bit, that's enough. So the devil has made the sight-line murky and hard to focus on Jesus.
But if we want to go to Heaven, there are some very simple guidelines to follow. First: we must ask forgiveness of our sins. That ain't hard at all. Then we change our ways. That can be hard, so we go to church and get involved with studying God's ways. God even tells us in Isaiah 55:8-9: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” So we need to raise our bar a little higher if we're not already a Christ follower.
If you want to go to Heaven and you're not a Christian right now, pray this simple prayer as you read it: Jesus, please forgive me of my sins. Help to live according to your ways. Please help me find a good Bible teaching church in my area and let me make good Christian friends. Help me to think differently and behave according to your ways. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer just now, welcome to the family of God. You are a Christian and headed towards Heaven. Don't be surprised if something happens that tries to make you go back to your old lifestyle and non-Christian life. The devil plays for keeps and he will try to trip you up any way he can. Perhaps making some phone calls to Christians you may know and let them know that you have just accepted Christ as your Savior is a good idea. Having some people pray for you will give you some good prayer cover and will always help.
Find a Bible and start reading it every day. Starting in St. John is a good place to start. St. Matthew chapters 5,6 &7 are good to read as well. That's Jesus' sermon on the mount and you can get a good idea of how God thinks about a lot of things.
Just don't ever forget that you're actively involved in an all out war for your soul. It's a Spiritual war for your very soul and it's not that hard to win. Believe me, I've read the back of the book and WE WIN! Pray always and don't stop.
May God richly bless you and keep you.
