It's a great day to be a Christian. We can rejoice that the end is in sight. Living a joyous Christian life is ours for the taking.

Living A Joyful Christian LIfe

What a day to be a Christian. Can being a Christian be more exciting than it is today? With all that is going on in the world right now, God being in control of everything and time getting short; it's a great day to be a Christian.
For this is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. This is my thought as I sit in front of this computer yet again and write about God. I'm also listening to great worship music at the same time. In recent years, days like this have become more frequent, and rejoicing in the Lord is easy and fun.
But it's not always the norm for many of us. Trust me, it wasn't so long ago that I was sitting in that seat too. Life has a way of beating the snot out of us, especially when we're already down and already licking our wounds. It's times such as those where the devil comes in and does his best to challenge our very existence. He goes right for our faith, or to be more specific, our lifeline, if you will. And it's that very instant where we have a decision to make; are we going to give in and let the devil rob us of our God given joy, or are we going to look toward Heaven and claim victory? The JOY of the Lord is our STRENGTH! (emphasis mine) You'll find that Scripture at the end of Nehemiah 8:10.
There are so many Scriptures that speak of joy during hard times. Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.” Psalm 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.” Isaiah 12:22, “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” Psalm 16:11, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Psalm 5:11, “But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you.” I can go on forever here. Just go to your concordance and look under “Joy, strength, abide,” and other words that strike a chord with you.
We've read the back of the book and we know we win the war! We do have thee little battles we have to mop up in the process however. That's where we grow and mature as a Christian and as a person. It's the wind that makes a trees roots go deeper. Exercise makes our muscles bigger and our waist smaller. Fire makes the forest greener and gives it a bath so-to-speak.
We are all going to have rough waters, fires, divorce, births, deaths and me;ting ice cream cones throughout this life. But if we hide His Word in our heart, oh, how much easier it is to come out on the other side of those battles victorious and with a smile. Psalm 37:31, “The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip.” Psalm 56:3, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Job 22:11, “Receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart.” Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Again, I can go on forever with these Scriptures.
Here's the bottom line; Christ came and walked this earth and suffered the most cruel and painful death known to man. He did it for you personally. He did it for all of us, but for each individual also. He knew what it was like to be tempted with the same things that we are. Things like chocolate and cake and banana cream pie. But seriously, God is not a God that is out of touch with us. He knows exactly what it is we're going through. And He is the answer for every need we have ever had. He supplies all our needs, such as food, shelter and clothing. He helps us emotionally by holding us up with our Christian friends. And He makes us wise when we study His word and pray daily. If you want your life to ease up a little, make it a daily practice to pray and read that Bible. You'll still have challenges, but you'll be ready for them at that point.
If you don't know Christ as your Savior, please make these simple words your prayer. “Father, thank you for loving me and sending Christ to earth to die for my sins. Please forgive my sins and cleanse me from my past. Make my life an example to those around me who don't know You. Help me to grow and walk in Your ways, not mine. Thank you Father. Amen.”
If you prayed that prayer, you're now a child of God and a new Christian. Welcome to the family. I look forward to meeting you some day. We get to visit while eating baklava in Heaven soon.
I have just shown you how to have a more victorious life in Jesus. Trust me, I'm taking my own advice this time! Study that Bible and find those nuggets that bless your heart and strengthen your faith. You'll be so glad you did.
May God richly bless you and your family.

Oh so true Lee. I can't imagine what my life would be like with Jesus in it. Can you imagine not having that hope in our lives to keep us smiling?
