Is the Earth as old as "scientists' are telling us?

A consideration of various facts regarding the earth and solar system suggest that the 'billions of years' we've been told for the age of the earth and solar system aren't exactly true.

The earth's magnetic field

Carl Gauss invented a magnetometer with which to measure the absolute value of the magnetic field at various places around the earth. He managed to reduce these worldwide field measurements to one number, which represented the total strength of the Earth’s magnetic field.
This value was first recorded in 1835, and it has been observed over the past 180 years that the Earth’s magnet is decaying rapidly. It has been determined that the half-life of the earth’s magnetic field is 1400 years. In 7000 years’ time, five intervals of 1400 years, the Earth’s magnetic field decayed to 1/32 of its original strength. If the earth was over 100,000 years old, the magnetic north pole would have been a molten mass, but there is no evidence of that.

The moon and other bodies in our solar system

Volcanic eruptions on the moon indicate it is young; otherwise it would have cooled off if it were billions of years old.
Scientists, believing the moon to be millions of years old, thought there would be a layer of dust on it over 20 miles thick. There is not over two or 3 inches of dust on the moon’s surface. This is what we would expect if the moon was less than 10,000 years old.
Events taking place on the moon, such as moon quakes, lava flows, and gas emissions reveal that the moon is not a cold, dead body. If the moon were quite old, these activities would have ceased long ago.
The moon is gradually moving farther away from the earth. At the rate that it is presently moving, the earth and the moon cannot be old. If the moon were as old as 20 to 30,000 years old, at that time it would have been so close that the Earth’s gravity would have pulled it to the earth’s surface.
Uranium 236 and thorium 230 were found in moon rocks. These two radioactive elements have short half-lives, and quickly turn into lead. If the moon were even 50,000 years old, these radioactive elements would have long since turned into lead. But the specimens showed an abundance of radioactive material. This shows that the moon cannot be older than several thousand years.
Jupiter's fifth moon, Io, is the most volcanically active body in the solar system. Plumes of sulfur spew upward as high as 190 miles (300 kilometers). The surface of Io is splotched with lava lakes and floodplains of liquid rock. This would not be possible if it were billions of years old.
Jupiter, Uranus and Saturn are actually producing a great deal of heat energy, even though they are far from the sun. This indicates a young age for them.
Researchers have studied the shrink rate of our sun. If that rate had been continuous in the past, 50,000 years ago the sun would have been so large that our oceans would have boiled. Going back 100,000 years ago, the sun would have been about twice its present size, making life even more impossible.
Comets, journeying around the sun, are continually disintegrating. They diminish in size each time they pass the sun. A number of comets have broken up and disintegrated entirely. Some that were regularly seen in the 19th century have vanished completely. After a span of 10,000 years, all comets should have completely ceased to exist. Scientists have proposed schemes to explain that there is ‘somewhere’ in the universe a place where new comets are being born. This is an escape clause to justify the billions of years they claim are the age of the universe and solar system. Pure speculation!!

Hydrogen and helium

According to one theory of solar energy, hydrogen is constantly being converted into helium as stars shine. But hydrogen cannot be made by converting other elements into it. If the universe were as old as Big Bang believers contend, there should be little hydrogen left in it. It would have all been transformed into helium by now, but there is an abundance of hydrogen in the stars; therefore the universe must be young.
Some stars are so enormous in diameter that it is thought they could not have existed for even a few million years; otherwise their initial larger mass would have been impossibly large. They radiate energy very rapidly-some as much is 100,000 to 1 million times more rapidly than our own sun. They could not have contained enough hydrogen to radiate at such fast rates for long ages, because their initial mass would have had to be far too gigantic.

Back to the earth

The spin of the earth, which is about 1000 miles an hour, is gradually slowing down. This is caused by gravitational drag coming from the sun and the moon and elsewhere. If the earth were really billions of years old as evolutionists believe, it would have stopped turning on its axis. This shows that our world is not very old.
Natural gas deposits are usually located in a porous and permeable rock- like sandstone or limestone. This is sealed by nearly impenetrable rock like shale. It can escape through the containing rock but passes more slowly out of the nearly impenetrable rock layers. The rate of escape natural gas through these shale caps is far too rapid for acceptance of the evolution theory. If the world were billions of years old, all natural gas would have escaped.
Oil, like natural gas, is maintained in the earth under extremely high pressure. But this could not be the case if the earth were millions of years old because the oil would have leaked out or dissipated because of the extreme pressure.
Oil seepage is common from the seafloor and the oceans. If the earth were more than 20,000 years old, all the oil where we are placing offshore wells would have been gone long ago.
The Mississippi River Delta dumps 300 million cubic yards of mud into the Gulf of Mexico every year, at the point where the river enters the Gulf. Measurements and calculations reveal that it has only been forming for the past 4000 years. The English evolutionist, Charles Lyell, had made a superficial examination of the river and its Delta and said that the river system was 60,000 years old because he said that the Delta was 528 feet deep. But when Congress commissioned a survey to be done in the area, it was shown that the Delta was only 40 feet deep. This shows that the Mississippi River Delta is young, rather than millions of years old.

Where do we go from here?

In the face of these facts - which can be investigated and found to be true - are we to continue to believe those who tell us that the universe and solar system are billions of years old?
Or might it be possible to consider that the Bible history and chronology might get us closer to the real age of the earth, universe and solar system?
