Schools may appear all the same, but are they? are you depriving your children success in the future. You may, if you believe that all school are run uniformly.

Which School?

Considering and then choosing the right high school is one of the most important things parents will make for their children. In the same way that all children are so different from one another, so are the secondary schools they must attend.

How to choose a school

The first step is to look at the child performance in Primary school and in which areas of study the child has performed better. Where these the academic subjects? What were the grades in English composition, creative writing and analytical writing? If they were above average the child definitely has shown strength in this area, he/she should be encouraged by choosing a school that specializes in the Arts. Another child will show remarkable strength in Math and Science then a schools specializing in these subjects should be strongly considered so as to develop the child’s ability in these areas of study.

Consider the strong points in learning

On the other hand, some young students will show a great ability in sport but lagging behind in all other subject. It is important not to overlook the sporting ability but to actually encourage it by searching for schools which will develop this gift to great fruition. Even if the student has to travel a some distance, the final outcomes will be very rewarding. Being in the appropriate school this type of student will also improve in all the other subjects.

The importance of choosing wisely

It is true that at the start of High School, all schools will run the curriculum set out by the education department which will teach all the core subjects, such as English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Languages. Nevertheless, each different school will be strongly equipped in the area it specializes and guide their students in the correct pathway.
The right choice of school will determine the successful outcome at the end of Year 12.

Maybe the next Picasso?

We then come to the child who is progressing extremely well in all subjects; so what should be done with them? The answer is actually very easy. You, the parent will have been informed of your child’s behaviour in all its classes: good in some and unacceptable in others. Look at the subject and discuss with the child as to why the difference in attitude. You will soon discover that even though he/she is getting top marks in English, Math and Science, these subjects are of no interest. It is now that you suddenly discover that the young person only passion is Visual Arts; you have your answer

At the end there will be success

The right choice you will make at the start of secondary school will determine the successful outcome at the end of Year12
