What can we do about jealousy? Are we going to let the "green-eyed monster" devour us or are we going to "kill" it?

Set me free from jealousy

After reading about all the things that lead to jealousy, we might feel that we are doomed. We might think that we will always fail in this area of our life. But certainly that's not the case.

Here are some good news! There are several things that you can do to stop the "avalanche" of jealousy to fall on you.

How to overcome jealousy:

* Stop comparing yourself to others. You were created as an unique and special person. God had a plan for you long before you were even born. Comfort yourself with this thought. Love the fact that you are special. What God has in mind for you is not the same as His plans for someone else's life. So you should not feel bad because you do not have all the qualities, benefits, money, or anything else that belongs to another person. God's plan is designed especially for you.

* Stop worrying about you all the time. Find a way to be a blessing to someone else. When you change your focus, you suddenly improve your self-image. You have to experience the feeling of satisfaction only when you are a blessing to someone else. Your priorities start to change, and one day you realize that things that used to be reasons to feel jealous in the past do not bother you so much.

* Do not covet what other people have, unless you are willing to make the sacrifices they made to obtain it. When you see a person who is incredibly fit, it's easy to feel really jealous. But are you willing to go to the gym every day? Are you willing to eat healthier food and to look for ways to be healthy? If not, then you don't have any real reason to feel jealous, right?

* Start focusing on all good things in your life. God gave you so many wonderful gifts that many people do not have. Use these gifts to help someone in need. Since the conscious mind can only focus on one thing at a time, it is better to make sure that this "one thing" is positive and that it encourages you to achieve great things in life?

Being set free from jealousy starts with your thoughts. When you change your perspective, you change how you feel and how you act. The easiest way to change your focus is to start by helping others. It will certainly be a time well spent. Or rather, helpful thoughts.

Very well said Emanuela, especially - Do not covet what other people have, unless you are willing to make the sacrifices they made to obtain it. Nothing comes free and what we aspire for we should be ready to put the effort - siva
