Before you start to plan your amazing weekend, consider what is romantic for you and your special someone.

Amazing & Enjoy Romantic Weekend Day

For some people, romance is getting dressed up, heading to an expensive restaurant for a candlelit dinner and then dancing the night away. For others, a night at home to cuddle and watch movies while you eat pizza and have a few drinks is romance.

Once you have decided what is romantic to you, it’s time for the fun to start. Planning your trip can be almost as much fun as actually going away! For weeks, you can think about every little detail and the excitement will keep building. If you are too busy to plan, you can always hire someone to plan for you.

Before you start to plan, consider how long you will be gone. A weekend trip can be 2 – 4 days and how long you can be gone will help you decide where you want to go. If you can only be gone two days, then you will want to stay within a few hours of your home so you have plenty of time to play and not be wasting all of your time driving.

One of the easiest ways to find a cool place to visit is by asking friends and family for their suggestions of places they have visited near your home. Often, there are many interesting places close to where you live that you may not have heard of or never had the time to visit. The closer you stay to home, the more time you will have to explore and relax – and the more money you may save in travel costs.

You can also easily research options online, including sites like Trip Advisor and even travel social media sites. Search places of interest and be sure to add your hometown. Once you have several options, you can begin to cross them off. Remember to think about what would be romantic to you. Do you want to spend the night in a castle? In a bed and breakfast away from everything? How about a cabin in the woods?

If you know just what you want to do, be sure to add those keywords to your search. You may be surprised at how many options you will have close to home. Remember that part of the fun of the trip is the planning stage and exploring what you would like to do. Just talking to your special someone and discussing what you both love to do will bring you closer and get you both excited about your romantic weekend away.

If you want to add more excitement to the weekend, plan a shopping trip to purchase a new outfit for your romantic dinner or new hiking boots for your cabin in the woods. Remember that the bottom line of romance is spending time with the person you love while you are both focused on each other. Turn off the electronic gadgets and just be together. Even if you need to leave a cell phone on for contact with your children, you can agree that you will only answer calls from them.

Plan activities that allow you to be together having fun. Whether that is hiking or having drinks in a fancy place is up to you. Forget that the electric bill needs paid or that your children need new shoes. Focus on the one you love and enjoy the weekend that will rush by too fast.

Smart tips. A cabin in the woods away from everything would certainly be my idea of romantic. We are planning a trip to Salem, Massachusetts for Halloween, and while that might not sound romantic, the area definitely has plenty of sites that are. Strolling the waterfront, touring preserved buildings or a horse and buggy ride in nearby Boston.
