Love is the primary reason for a long lasting relationship. Actually, it is God’s greatest commandment. A meaningful life is a life full of love. The best way to enjoy it is to share it with someone till the bounds of marriage and settling down a family. But many other components needed to nourish and maintain it. Love alone isn’t enough to let a partnership grow healthy.

A Relationship Worth Keeping, Forever

Affection- Thoughtfulness means a lot to your partner. A simple gesture of care like preparing them a hearty breakfast in bed, giving them roses , a simple token like letting them have a good book or anything that interest them are the small but great things to strengthen your bond together.

Understanding- Most people in a relationship go together well when they have something in common, if they have the same interest, dreams and aspirations in life. As the old saying goes, “birds of the same feather flock together”. But there’s also a saying that “opposites attract”. Incompatibilities can also produce zest and spice on a relationship considering that it is handled properly. Know your partner’s differences to yours. Understanding their imperfections and learning to adjust to it is a healthy way of interacting and establishing your relationship with them.

Dedication- It can also be interchanged as commitment. Finding a purpose gives you the drive and meaning for everything you do. The willingness to spend quality time and the motivation to make your partner happy, to reach their goals and aspirations in life are your main duty towards your partnership.

Fun- Being creative and practicing the sense of ‘play’ brings out the excitement on a relationship. Having a hobby and doing fun activities together strengthen the bonding moments and promotes quality time; like a stroll in a park, a brisk walk or jog on a marathon oval or playing bowling on a mall. Having a sense of humor and a daily good laugh is a big “plus”.

Patience- Having arguments and misunderstandings is a normal scenario on a relationship. But to some extent, a petty quarrel can lead to a serious matter. There are instances that it can lead to incidence of violence. Patience and practicing anger management is an essential attribute. It is normal for a relationship for having individual differences. Have a healthy talk and constructive feedback rather than blaming and pointing fingers. Losing the argument is better than losing the relationship.

Security-Money has the power to raise a family and give a good education. The power to purchase is also the power for daily provision. Financial stability is also an important factor towards maintaining a healthy relationship, but it shouldn’t be above love till it dictates materialism.

Faith- Partnership till the bounds of marriage is a lifelong commitment. Divine intervention is the best way to maintain it. Between you and your partner, God is the greatest sustainer of having a happy long lasting relationship. Prayers and reading the Bible everyday will give you guidance and wisdom to handle it.

These are the main components of a healthy partnership. Lacking one of these could be crucial. Applying and developing these attributes will make your relationship lead to a meaningful and colorful life. So you need to treasure and cherish every moment of it.
