Spending quality time with your kids is the best way to make your kids extremely happy. If you believe that, then you haven't tried baking brownies with them yet! Here are tips on how you can bake chocolate chip brownies with your kids and spend quality time with them!

Fond Memories

Growing up, fond memories of your mother or grandmother cooking and baking every weekend are not easily forgotten. You always remember the smell of cakes and cookies baking, stews boiling everytime you pass by the kitchen. In one time or another, your mother or grandmother let you help them mix the batter or stir the pan.

As a child, you carry all these memories with you and with the hope that one day, when you have kids of your own, you will let them experience cooking or baking with you and at the same time spend some precious time with them.

Before You Start

Before you start baking with your kids, here are some suggestions to make it more enjoyable and safe for everybody. Transform your kitchen into a classroom where you can teach them many things about life and the art of cooking. Teach your kids regarding safety. Keep all the sharp objects and hot surfaces away from them. Choose recipes that are simple and easy to handle like dough for cookies. Let them use mixes so that it will be easier for them and not too complex. Let them experiment with shapes and different textures.

Help your kids understand instructions, ingredients and proper measurements. Remind them to wash their hands and clean the countertops as you go along. Be patient with them. It takes a lot more time for you to finish but it will be all worth it in the end. And most importantly, teach them regarding handling food and keeping dirt and bacteria away from the food.

Children can make a big mess but you need to explain to them the importance of keeping the food safe to eat. It may be a simple task for you but they will carry the memories and the things you taught them as they grow up.
