Some suggestions for indoor activities especially when you're unable to leave the house.

Hobbies : Indoor Activities

Is it raining and you lack imagination on how to spend the time indoors? Bored out of your skull, but cannot get out because it’s raining rats, cats and dogs?! Well, fret no more, here are some ideas! Occupy yourself on a rainy day!

Surely you have a hobby or two? Here’s mine if you feel like borrowing my ideas

1) Read a book. Personally, on a rainy day, I always like to curl up warm and comfortable in my favorite chair with my favorite novel and maybe a cup of hot chocolate drink. Before I know it, hours have passed and the rain has stopped.

2) Compose. Compose whatever you want: a song, a poem, a sonata, a short story, a limerick or a play. It is possible that you’ll never get it published, but the important part is to see how far you can go with this hobby. At the very least, you can get it published on-line, where there many sites for it.

3) Draw or paint. You don’t know how? Can’t even draw a crooked line? Well, what better time to learn than when it’s raining and you have nothing better to do.

4) Cook or bake. What better time to learn if you don’t know how? Perhaps you do know how, but there’s a certain recipe you want to try or have tried before and want to get right. This would be the time for it.

5) Blog. If you have a computer and internet access, then you can blog. There’s no limit to the topics you can blog about. You can even think about doing it as a part-time ’job’ to earn money online.

6) Write a Journal. I separate this from blogging because to me, writing a journal always involves a pen and a note-book (a journal). No computer and the internet involved in any way. It’s old-fashion for some, sure, but it’s how I like it. There’s a feeling of authenticity to this way that I do it.

There you have it. Perhaps you have your own idea or hobbies that you do indoors on a rainy day, and that would be time well-spent.

Of course, you could always just catch up on your sleep or work. But where’s the fun in that?
