History Repeats

I fear Christians have fallen into a "voting" trap set by the secular governing system.
The question "Should Christians Vote?" will be thoroughly discussed in the forthcoming articles.

America Is Returning To The Time Of Noah

Less than five months forward we will again be plunged into another election year – mid-term elections. I can already hear the tiresome rhetoric and empty promises monopolizing the air waves and media. My prayer is that Christians will be much wiser and resistant to the godless political system than in the past. Even disengagement may be proper.

What is happening in America in regards to godlessness and immorality has happened before. What many Christians don't realize is Christians have aided in the cultural and moral decline of America by voting for political candidates who advance godlessness and immorality. THAT SHOULD NOT BE!

America is fast approaching the general depravity of mankind in the time of Noah. “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” Genesis 6:5 I can't imagine it being much longer before God will be justified to eradicate this godless, immoral generation of our time.

God warned Noah that mankind's remaining time on earth would be one hundred and twenty years (Genesis 6:3) before He would destroy them. “And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth.....for it repenteth me that I have made them.” Genesis 6:7 We read in Genesis Chapter 7 that every living thing on all the earth was destroyed by a worldwide flood. The next and final destruction will be by fire. (II Peter 3:10)

God was very displeased with humanity in Noah's time because of their evil hearts and wicked ways. Does that not describe the general spiritual condition of Americans today? America is becoming anti-God, anti-Christ, anti-Christian which spawns wholesale abortion, homosexuality, gay rights, gay marriage, suppression of religious freedoms and the destruction of the family unit. Surely God must be displeased with America!

America has only one course of action that will bring God's favor rather than destruction. That course is REPENTANCE – turning from evil hearts and wicked ways to righteousness. Know this, that cannot and will not happen if Americans, Christians included, keep voting unfit and immoral candidates into public office. Nothing will change if we don't change our voting habits. Make sense?

I believe it befalls Christians first to turn America around – to change our godless and immoral government and political system to righteousness. How do we do this? We refuse to cast votes for political candidates who have demonstrated or declare support for activities which are detrimental to the spiritual and cultural welfare of America. Any spiritually minded Christian is able to discern what is right or wrong for both God and America.

I will be happy to know your thoughts on this matter which I perceive to be a most serious matter in these last days. MAY GOD BLESS YOU.

A bit off topic but I do remember one year some Churches were telling their members how to vote on American Idol. They were not picking the best singer and votes were only on a religious bias. Shameful.

Even telling people how to vote on anything is a disgrace in my opinion, an abuse of power.

Thanks, Mark

I should think churches would have a more important task than voting for American Idol contestants.

Churches are commanded to be about preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and bringing lost people to Him.

Winners of TV contests and political elections generally do not reflect the righteous path.

The only voting necessary for Christians is voting for Christ by their righteous works.,

God tells Christians to pray for those in leadership , that we may live a peaceful life . We can also ask for His wisdom as to where to put our tick or cross , and then pray that they govern wisely and with integrity . They need all the prayers they can get for the tasks ahead of them .
God bless you
Stella
