Almost everyone has a desire to be well ~ not just physically ~ but mentally and emotionally also. Many also want to be financially free to the extent possible. To accomplish this, one generally has to be willing to pay a high price in terms of time invested into getting the knowledge needed to apply the principles.

Wellness In Mind And Body Through Healthy Eating

Sometimes it might just require a slight shift or reduction in portion sizes along with an increased water intake, and including more fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. It is good also to engage in some type of consistent physical activity at least thirty minutes a day three times a week ~ or more ~ to get back on track. This of course should be coordinated with your health care provider.

Researchers from Rush University in Chicago have combined elements from both the Mediterranean Diet and the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diets to create the Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay (MIND) Diet.

A Mediterranean diet is high in healthy fats, whole grains and omega 3’s and has been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer. The DASH diet focuses on fruits, vegetables and low fat dairy, and has been shown to reduce the risk of hypertension, heart attack and stroke.

Researchers evaluated over 900 seniors who were participating in the Rush Memory and Aging Project (MAP) project that studies the aging process. Researchers evaluated the nutritional information of seniors that were already following basic MIND diet principles as well as those who ate a Mediterranean diet and a DASH diet. Researchers then noted the incidences of Alzheimer’s of those seniors over a 5 year period.

They found that those seniors who followed the MIND diet reduced their risk of developing Alzheimer’s by as much as 53% and when it was not followed rigorously it still reduced the disease by as much as 35%. Source: Alzheimer's.net

The Mind Is The Battleground Be On Guard

The mind ~ which is a part of the soul realm ~ needs deep spiritual insight, and heartwarming words spoken or read to it on a regular basis Be on guard. Otherwise, negativity and filth will creep in uninvited ~ and endeavor to completely overtake it.

An excellent way to guard your heart is to read from Our Creator's Wonderful Book of Teaching on Life and Love daily. The Proverbs is a great source of Wisdom ~ and Wisdom is the principal thing needed to live a healthy lifestyle.

When we study and apply the principles found in the Proverbs, we have a much better likelihood of living a happy, healthy. well rounded life

How Do You Spend Your Spare Time?

Your initial response may be "I do not have any spare time." There are many people that may very well relate to that. Time is one of those resources that all are given the same amount of. Time management is the challenge. Unfortunately ~ time is often just wasted. Regrettably time lost can never be retrieved. However God's mercies are new every morning. So because of His Grace, you have an opportunity to start over.

Seek God First Not Money Or Things

There are individuals all over the globe who tend to have a priority of getting more money ~ thinking it will satisfy the longing in the heart. It wasn't meant to and it doesn't.

There is greed ~ at least to some extent ~ in every country it seems. Different parts of the world place varying degrees of importance on comfort and lifestyles. Basic needs everywhere include food, clothing, and shelter of some kind. Somehow still in the most wealthy nations are some of the poorest people ~ relatively speaking.

Greatest Need Is Spiritual

Our need for a Savior was provided when God ~ The Creator of the universe ~ sent His Son Jesus to die ~ so that whoever would believe on Him might not perish ~ but have ~ everlasting life.

That would entail being able to live out His Love, Joy, and Peace. Complex ~ but not really complicated. Not hard ~ but not easy either. Requires diligence and determination to live in obedience to His Will and His Way. When we live our lives according to His plans and purpose, we experience joy.

It is not about religion. It's about having a relationship with God your Creator .

Good food does wonders for our body, and good words wonders for our mind.

Only God can satisfy the heart though.

Nice sentiments Helen.

Thanks ~ Stella ~ for your continued support and kind comments.

It is not easy ~ generally speaking ~ for us to practice what we preach because it requires an enormous amount of discipline and self denial. But because of the incredible riches of God's grace and mercy, we are given inner strength to do so.

Richest Blessings to you and your loved ones.

Helen, thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful article. These are definitely words of wisdom. I've read and studied the whole bible. I try to start my day with a smile and end my day with a smile. I truly believe our attitudes contribute to our health. I love psalms but I've learned the most from Revelation. I think if I studied that book everyday for the rest of my life I would still learn new things. Congratulations on the shiny gold star. Blessings to you!

People are mindful about how they look by using cosmetics to enhance their looks, but how many ponder about what they eat?

Keeping our actions and thinking pure is a real challenge but when one makes it a habit, automatic signals warn us when we cross danger areas.

Thanks Helen for this lovely share - siva
