"There is an ocean of God's love available--there is plenty for everyone. May God grant you never to doubt that victorious love--whatever the circumstances." --Corrie Ten Boom.

Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; Sing praises to His name, for it is lovely (Psalm 135:3).

God Is Good!

“Thou art good and doest good” (Psalm 119:68)

God is good!

Often I have heard people say, "How good God is! We prayed that it would not rain for our church picnic, and look at the lovely weather!'" Yes, God is good when He sends good weather. But God was also good when He allowed my sister, Betsie, to starve to death before my eyes in a German concentration camp. I remember one occasion when I was very discouraged there. Everything around us was dark, and there was darkness in my heart. I remember telling Betsie that I thought God had forgotten us. "No, Corrie," said Betsie, "He has not forgotten us. Remember His Word: 'For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him.'" Corrie concludes, "There is an ocean of God's love available--there is plenty for everyone. May God grant you never to doubt that victorious love--whatever the circumstances." --Corrie Ten Boom.

God is everything He should be, that is He is the ideal person, the only one who does everything to perfection. He is excellence personified, and there is nothing in His nature that can be improved. God IS good!

The question often asked is, “Well if your God is so good, then why is there suffering in the world?” That question is not easy to answer, and even harder to understand. The thought that leads to a solution is found in the very beginnings of the Bible’s account of creation.

In this account we see God create a new and wonderful creation that chose its own destiny. Eve chose to eat the fruit. Adam chose to take that fruit when Eve offered it to him. Mankind, Adam and Eve, made deliberate choices that affected not only their life, but the lives of all of creation to come.

Today we make all kinds of decisions. Some are good, some are bad, but each of those decisions belongs to us. Every decision we make carries a corresponding consequence, not only for ourselves, but for those around us as well. Could it be that much of the suffering we see comes from making bad decisions?

It’s not always our own decisions that haunt us either. Consider the fine upstanding church woman who gets taken out by the drunk driver? What decision did she make to deserve her fate? Obviously it wasn’t her choice that got her in trouble, but instead it was the poor choice of an inebriated driver.

It’s hard to see God’s goodness when those around us are suffering. Yet God is, in Himself, the highest and greatest example of “good”. He does good things, He extends His goodness to others, and His actions demonstrate good will towards all men. It is in His nature to be generous and kind, just as it is in man’s nature to turn away.

A little fellow was heard praying at bedtime, “Help me to be a good boy—but you be a good God too.” But there is no need to remind God to be good. He cannot possibly be otherwise.

Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good;
Sing praises to His name, for it is lovely (Psalm 135:3).

It's always our choice, but it's the choice that leads to our destinies. Which are known and written long long ago before creation. God is great and fair. God is also merciful. I love god for protecting me. Even troubles are good for us. When we're thankful in joy and sorrow, God thanks us for that too. There is always something good saved for us by god. Thanks Dr Charles for this this article in god love.
