Fun Days Out For Couples

As a recently married woman I have been trying to think of ways in which my partner and I can keep the honeymoon period going for as long as possible and I have concluded this is by making sure we do new activities on a regular basis. In this article I will go through some activities that may be considered a bit different to some but can definitely give you new experiences to enjoy together.

Kite Festivals

I was speaking to a colleague at work about her weekend a couple of months ago and she said she went to stunt kite event with some of her friends and really enjoyed the experience. This got me thinking, why not give it a try. So last month I saw that the Brighton Kite Festival was on and we decided to make a day of it down by the seaside. I left the festival feeling quite taken back by the multitude of different kites on show ranging from kites of animals and different types of objects such as ships, cars and I even spotted a genie. However the highlight of the day was by far the stunt kites which were surprisingly skilful especially when there were multiple kites in the air. I had problems just getting my kite to stay in the air so for the kite handlers to make the kites do inverted flips was very impressive to see live.

Film Experience Days

Another activity that I couldn’t recommend enough, especially if you are a film buff, is to go on a date to a movie experience centre. This is where you go behind the scenes and find out how the stunts and special effects are performed whilst also performing in your very own film. You can do this as part of a group of friends or just the 2 of you and join in with another group, either way it’s still a great day out. The best part of it is at the end of the day you have the opportunity to watch your home made film on the big screen, which definitely will cause a few laughs, and can purchase the DVD so you can reminisce on the experience on a rainy day.

When my husband first suggested zorbing as activity my first thought was, ‘you’re going mad’ as who would want to be rolled down a hill in a plastic ball for fun however you only live once so I decided to give it a try. As it turns out zorbing isn’t actually that bad, especially if you’re an adrenaline junkie.

Due to it being quite daunting for some first timer like myself you have a selection of courses that you can go ranging from the beginners slopes and then when you feel more confident you can then move on to the steeper more advanced runs. The most unexpected thing for me was how quickly you pick up momentum on the advanced hills as you go from gently rolling down a hill to being hurtled through the air almost out of control which is scary but exhilarating at the same time.

Adult Adventure Courses

When I was young I used to love children’s adventure playgrounds such as Charlie Chalk’s and Al’s Adventure House however I quickly grew too old for it to be socially acceptable for me to continue to play in there. Therefore when I found out that there were adult adventure courses consisting of high and low rope courses and climbing walls I wanted to go immediately. This can be a really good day out if you and your partner are quite active and don’t take yourselves too seriously, it may not be everyone’s cup of tea however if you go along with an open mind you can have a really fun day out.
These are just some of the things that a new couple can try to get new experiences rather than the usual cinema, restaurants, going out for a drink. Therefore if you and your partner are running out of ideas of things to do then these are definitely some of the activities that you should consider to perhaps diversify your relationship.
