Do not get caught up in a situation like this and then search for solutions. Read carefully and you can distinguish the relationship clearly.

If you learn this early in life you will not feel cheated.

When you were in school you were taught the words friendship and love. Young minds accepted the words as they are. Slowly when you developed relationships you realized every person who looked friendly was more an acquaintance than a friend. Later on few of them became friends while others remained acquaintances. Slowly in your teens you go through physiological changes and during adolescence you felt every friend from the other sex was in love with you. Every time they spoke or smiled it became a reassurance. However, when things went wrong you realized that it must have been infatuation and not true love. In life you will have acquaintances and friends so will you have infatuation and love.

Give yourself some time before you declare an acquaintance as a friend.

Similarly understand every infatuation does not become love.

Thanks for bringing up the topic on infatuation, which many do not address. It is something if not realized and corrected can make a person lose focus on the larger things in life.

Yeah but when infatuation frienship and love get followed by admiration and dedication one has usually found their soul mate.
