Fresh home made purée is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals for your baby. This is a wonderful, simple way to ensure your young children have their daily nutritional needs met.

Healthy Baby Food

Simple Purée suitable from Six months

Banana Purée
Mash or purée 1 small banana and serve immediately. This is a great source of fibre for young babies.

Pear Purée
Peel and core a ripe pear, mash to a smooth consistency and serve immediately.

Mango Purée
Slice half off a mango and purée, serve immediately.

Date Purée
250g of pitted dates
250 ml filtered water
This purée is an excellent way to add natural sweetness to fruits. Place the dates in a saucepan and pour over hot water, heat for 10 minutes stirring until soft. Blend to a smooth paste. This purée is suitable for freezing or may be kept in a sealed jar in the fridge for two weeks.

Millet and fruit Purée
Millet is a wonderful nutritious baby breakfast, it's rich in iron, potassium and magnesium. Begin by making the flakes smooth, using a food processor. Mix with milk or water and bring to the boil. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until it thickens. To sweeten add some date purée from the freezer.
