Four of my favourite (and inexpensive) educational toys for toddlers.

Educational Toys for Toddlers

Learning is critical as a toddler especially up to the age of three as their brains are still making connections so it is beneficial to buy your kids learning toys that they not only enjoy playing with but are also educational as well.

Wooden Puzzles

Puzzles are good for child development as they have to fit the pieces in the correct hole. There are several variety of puzzles I recommend one that has the picture behind the removed piece not just a blank spot as it makes it easier for the child to correctly line up the piece. My daughter received a wooden puzzle that has animals and every time to fit in the correct piece it makes the animal sound which made it more interesting for her.

Flash Cards

I am a big fan of flash cards and they are really inexpensive, I pick them up for a dollar at the dollar store. I like 'Beginning Word's' for younger toddlers who are just learning to talk. And once they understand you can lay them out on the floor or a table and have them find the word you say. Once they have a good understanding of the beginning words you can buy a little more advanced ones like Shapes and Colours.

Magnets

I bought my daughter a pack of animal magnets and I would name an animal and ask her to bring it to me. I was amazed on how many she knew. And to clean up I would just lay all the magnets out and ask her to put a specific animal on the fridge. You can also get the Alphabet letters and do the same exercise.

Rigatoni and Pipe Cleaners

Okay you're probably thinking that's a outlandish one but I found stringing Rigatoni onto a pipe cleaner was really good for her hand eye coordination and she actually enjoyed it a lot, although she loves noodles and did try to eat the raw noodle once or twice. Some people also push pipecleaners through a shoebox or Pringles can to teach coordination.

And so Many More...

I'm not going to say that this list in anyway is inclusive to all the educational toys as there are so many but these are just a few that I have found really helpful (and are also inexpensive) Do you know of another toy that you think should be on the list? Please let me know.
