Divorce is taking the easy way out, why not just work it out besides, you're already married.

Divorce, is there really a need for it or is it just an excuse?

People get married for different reasons and, the most common of all is because you love one another. However, these days loving each other isn't enough, and most times people see that it's not then end up getting a divorce anyway. Being an atheist, I feel like I know better than most people what it means to get married, stay married and work it out which is ironic because I'm not married. Furthermore, I don't believe in divorce because I believe that there's a very significant reason why you married that person, and no matter what happens you should be able to work it out. Marriage isn't sacred anymore like it was 25, 30 years ago, people get divorced on a whim because of stupid and pointless reasons and despite those reasons being their own it still goes back to the question why did you get married? I always said that when I got married, I'm not going to get a divorce for any reason because I believe that two people can work through anything as long as they're willing to communicate. Divorce shouldn't even come up unless it becomes a life or death situation like if one of the people's life get threatened or things like that, I maybe an atheist but I know the sacredness of marriage and how to keep it together and the key words are communication and compromise. A divorce is imminent if those 2 words are ignored. Remember that.

RJ; short and sweet and to the point and it is exactly what I believe too. There are not very many reasons to get a divorce, for me it would be physical violence or an addiction takes over the marriage and even then I would try everything to solve the addiction problem, whether it's drug, gambling or drinking. Cheating can usually be resolved with counselling, unless the person cheating is determined to keep doing so, and plans to leave the marriage for their other lover; but in most cases cheating is a symptom of something else that is wrong in the marriage. Just my two cents. Loved your take on this, thanks for sharing. Will share on Facebook and Twitter.
