Too many people get overwhelmed by all the details of a wedding. By creating a plan and sticking to it the wedding will go much smoother and the bride will be much calmer.

I am Getting Married!

It finally happened he popped the question! Now the fun begins or does it? I have seen some brides have the best experiences and others wished they eloped. The key is planning and making sure you and your fiance are making the decisons not family or friends. It is your wedding and should be exactly what you two want. Everyone will want to give input and certainly you can take ideas or suggestions but if it is not what you want don't feel obligated to use them.

Deciding on the Wedding

Now it's time to decide what type of wedding you want big, small, in a church or at the beach. Time frame is also a factor, it is hard to put together a five hundred guest sit down dinner wedding in 6 weeks. These decisions will then give you the basis of all other decisions. Once you decide it is time to book the place for the wedding and the reception. After this is done you have a good beginning on all of the rest of the decisions that need to be made.

The Actual Planning

Some couples go with a wedding planner. They are helpful if you have a full schedule or you have no idea where to begin. If your budget doesn't allow for a wedding planner don't worry millions of couples have done it on their own. You can usually find a weddling planner book or even a website that will give you time frames that things need to be done. Don't be afraid to ask for help that's what the maid of honor, bridesmaids and parents are there for. At the beginning of every month know what you must accomplish. Everything doesn't have to be done at once. In the beginning you will want to get the important things out of the way. Finding a DJ or band, photographer, florist, and cater will need to be done once you know the date time and place. Many of these professionals are booked in advance and to get the one you want sooner is always better. Always make sure once you have finished an item you cross it off your list. Two weeks before the wedding you don't want to realize you don't have a cake for the big day.

The Big Day is Finally Here

You have been diligently working on every detail and it is all down. You went through your list the for the last time and everything is done and ready to go. You are nervous but not worried. You can enjoy your day because you know that you and your helpers have accomplished everything you set out to do. Enjoy the day!
