Bugsy lived in a flea market, trapped in a tiny cage,
I could not leave him there, I had to take him home.
He is the most delightful pet, he spends happy days with me
He is safe but best of all, he can play and run - he's free!

Bugsy at Home.

At my home I placed him in a cardboard box for shoes
Then took him outside and set him on the lawn
My calico cat strolled up and took him by the neck
I quickly snatched him back, and it didn't happen again.

Now Bugsy has grown and gets along with all my pets
He chases the cats and my little dog wants to play with him
He hops around the trees and hides amongst the plants
He stands on his little back legs and takes a cookie from my hands.

Petra and Bugsy

Bugsy lives in style amongst my pets, respected by them all
They watch him and sometimes pat him with their paws
He moves around amongst them, even my little dog takes note
In fact, I would almost say on him they seem to dote.

Sometimes he seems to take advantage of them all
Maybe the size of his ears and the way he hops around
Impresses them, they haven't figured out his cute behavior
But he is established here now and they keep well within his favor.

Showing Respect!

Each and everyone of them are examples to us all
Different colors, different species, they have learned to get along
They show respect and share their space, even share their food
They show true worth and live together on our beautiful earth.

Life is too short when we realize the wonders we are given,
Perhaps we can stay a while and enjoy the visit to my garden.
Strife and problems I leave behind, along with those who do not matter
There is so much good and peace to find within the haven of love of nature.

At the End of the Day.

I see them in the evening, just spending time together.
Even squirrels come down and carefully remove their snacks
There is peace within my garden, where I would certainly find no other
Thank God I have some time to enjoy more love and often laughter.

This story does not end here, there is still some more to tell
Bugsy and all the rest, including me, plan to stay right here.
Winter days will come along with rain and ice cold weather
But we will be fine, we know how to live and we will stay together.

I think that if no one were to tell the bunny and cat that they were not siblings, they would not know (or even suspect) it!

A lesson for human species, perhaps! They are a contented lot. As Gandhi said - we have everything to meet our needs, but not the greed - maybe, even one man's greed! So much has been so lovingly provided for us! Wonderful share, Ivy - siva

I am pleased you read my page, Steve. (I am wondering if some of you think I am just a "little bit nuts", which reminds me, I have to put out nuts for the squirrels).
