Blind But Not Blind

I met a blind woman who had another sight. This article tells us how we can acquire the second sight which all of us need badly.

A Woman Without Sight Is Very Happy

I want to tell you about a blind woman I met at a medical clinic. I was waiting to have a routine blood test. The door to the clinic opened and a blind elderly lady was escorted to a seat in the waiting room. She was talking and laughing with her aide. I was really struck by her pleasant demeanor in her sightless situation.

She sat alert with a slight smile lingering on her face. Though she was blind I sensed she had another sight. The Holy Spirit urged me to speak to her. I went to her, bent down and spoke softly saying we didn't know one another but I sensed she knew the Lord. She instantly lit up with a big smile and gleefully blurted she knew the Lord. Our providential meeting was suddenly ended by my being summoned for my appointment.

What a wonderful meeting! This lady was blind and yet she was not blind. The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ came to give sight to the blind. We know there are two kinds of blindness: physical and spiritual. During His ministry Jesus restored physical sight to many and gave spiritual sight to those who believed in Him. We can explain physical sight simply as faith – faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.

The wonderful truth is Jesus still gives spiritual sight to those who seek it. Physical sight will not get anyone to heaven – spiritual sight is required which is attainable only by faith in Jesus Christ. Spiritual sight is the utmost blessing of all God's blessings. We who have it can't praise God enough.

There is a special blessing for blind people who possess spiritual sight – who have saving faith in Jesus Christ. When Jesus returns for His church Christians will receive a new body – a spiritual body fitted for eternity in heaven. Surely, your heavenly body will not bear any blindness. There will be no blind Christians in heaven.

I will never forget meeting that blind woman at the clinic. SHE WAS BLIND BUT NOT BLIND. Praise God! We were once blind but now we see. Praise God again!

Thank you for reading and may GOD BLESS
