Dealing with the betrayal of those closest to you.

Moving Forward After Betrayal

Most of us have had people that have betrayed us in some way. Some betrayals are life changing. They set off a chain of events that eventually tears your world apart.
Then after the initial betrayal there are strong hateful things thought and said. After that the dust settles eventually.
That person or persons are not in your life anymore. Slowly and often painfully you put your life back together because life does go on whether we are ready for it or not.
Normal life gets reinvented. As the pieces of life get put back together in a different pattern, before you know it years have passed. While the pain is still there and sadness, your life may be better than before.
In my case I didn’t just carve out those people that betrayed me. I carved out everything and everybody that was related in any way. I cut out friends that I have missed dearly.
Circumstances have brought these friends back in my life. I still haven’t visited them like I really want but maybe I will be ready for that soon as well.
I don’t have to worry about running into the people that tore my life apart anymore. They both died recently. I didn’t know how to feel at first. I know I didn’t feel gleeful that they had died; however, I did feel a peacefulness come over me.
It was as if a burden had been lifted off of my shoulders. These people would not be able to hurt my family again.
I have my friends back in my life and I have to be careful not to lose them again.
