Being Calm And Compassionate In Disagreements

Very often it seems impossible to not be reactionary when disagreements, disrespect, or even mild insults come our way. However ~ there is a way to do it. The primary key is to concentrate ~ on the issue at hand ~ and not keep going back in history to bring up past hurts.

Be Gentle And Stay Focused

Make an effort to plan ahead on how you are going to handle disagreements.

In our Creator's Wonderful Book of teaching on Life and Love, we find this in the Book of Proverbs:

A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare. The tongue of the wise makes knowledge appealing . . .

Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.

This quote is from the Fifteenth Chapter of Proverbs, Verses One, Two and Four ~ New Living Translation

Anger Left Unchecked Becomes Destructive

There comes a time when we need to TAKE A BREAK and get away from it all.

David Hawkins in his book ~ Dissolving the Ego, Realizing the Self ~ talks about how an individual can traverse the spiritual landscape to move beyond suffering to experience the peace and love of God, to transcend illusion and realize the state of enlightenment. He reminds us of the illusory nature of the personal self ~ identification of the ego/mind ~ and the direct pathways to transcend the ego/mind's trappings.

He inspires contemplation and reflection during a break at work, while hiking in the woods, during a quiet coffee-shop moment, on an airplane, with a partner-in whatever environment one finds oneself. Dissolving the Ego, Realizing the Self is said to be a reliable companion on the aspirant's quest toward higher truth.

Don't Be Ashamed Of Believing The Bible

In Our Creator's Wonderful Book of Teaching on Life in the New Testament Book of Romans, New Living Translation: This letter is from Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, chosen by God to be an apostle and sent out to preach His Good News. God promised this Good News long ago through His prophets in the holy Scriptures. The Good News is about his Son. In his earthly life He was born into King David’s family line, and He was shown to be the Son of God when He was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord. This quote is from Romans 1:1-4.

In the same chapter in verses sixteen and seventeen, the Apostle Paul says: For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes ~ the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in His sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life."

Victory Over Out Of Control Emotions

Instead of seeking revenge, get some rest, some fresh air, and laughter.

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And ~ THIS IS THE VICTORY ~ that has overcome the world ~ OUR FAITH. From ! John 5:4 New King James Version.

The Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and HE WILL GIVE YOU VICTORY. These encouraging words are quoted from our Creator's Wonderful Book of Teaching on Life and Love in the Old Testament Book of Deuteronomy, Chapter Twenty, Verse Four.

In addition ~ From the Book of Exodus, Chapter Fifteen, Verse Two, in our Creator's Book of Teaching on Life and Love, we find this: The Lord is my strength and my song; He has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise Him ~ my father’s God, and I will exalt Him!

Get to know this important fact which is based off Romans 8:28 God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.

No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow ~ not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. These encouraging words are found in Romans 8:37-38 New Living Translation.

Thanks Helen for your take. Disagreements, disrespect and insults are part and parcel of life. If we are sensitive it affects us more while for others, such as politicians, it is water off duck's back!

I face them with equanimity - these too will pass. I just restate the context and express a view everyone is entitled to their opinion. Live and let live attitude can sooth most hurts and insults - siva
