Baby Crying

Understand why babies cry
All parents hope that their newborn will be a cuddly, cooing infant who eats well, sleeps soundly and cries rarely. That’s wishful thinking! Most parents are surprised and upset to learn that typical baby cries for an average of 2.15 hours each day during its first seven weeks of life. Parents can best respond to the first challenge of parenting if they understand why babies cry.

Babies cry because they are hungry or wet, too hot or too cold, because they were ill, or simple because they want attention. The way they cry seems to contain the message they want to convey. You will soon recognized the difference between cries.

When you want to respond to your baby’s cry, don’t be put off by friends or relatives who say you are spoiling your child. You won’t spoil a tiny infant and you must investigate the baby’s needs. .

And if your baby is crying just to be held, who is to say that is not a legitimate reason to cry?
