What is lazy? What is good about being lazy? How a lazy person benefits society.

A tribute to Laziness

Ask me about lazy. I know all about it. It's my normal state. If I can put something off until later, I do. Then when later comes, I find another excuse. I'm lazy by nature. If I accomplish anything, it's because I made myself do it, not because I'm energetic.

Lazy is not all bad. It keeps you from getting tired. It also keeps you from hurting yourself while working. Lazy definitely has its good points.

Lazy people know how to get out of work. They have dozens of excuses and when they fail, they can always just say "no." This works for me!

A clever lazy person makes 'To Do' lists. When they find someone to do the items on their list, they check them off.

Lazy people know how to get things done, however. They are good at delegating. Lazy people make good bosses. They know all the tricks to getting someone else to do the work.

People with the 'Lazy' trait get the promotions, as they are experts at moving the work from themselves to others in a timely fashion and that is what shows up on the graphs of progress and in the board rooms.

Being lazy is definitely an art. At least, being lazy sucessfully! It takes a very clever person to be lazy and be a sucess at the same time. No one ever said that being lazy was akin to being stupid. In fact, it is just the opposite, you have to be very smart to remain lazy and continue not to exert yourself!

A requirement of the state of laziness is that you are a great thinker! Thinkers beget progress and results. They keep the world moving and growing.

Here's to lazy people!
They rule the world!

You've definitely painted LAZY as, perhaps, the first requirement of a good manager.

Thanks Etc. I wrote this a long time ago and just freshened it up for wikinuts. It was a fun piece to do.

Great article, made me smile.
I tend to love lazy people simply because they figure out the shortest possible way to do things; I just don't want them around me :)

My dad used to say that you should give the hardest job you have to the laziest person and they will come up with the easiest way to do it.
