History of Gemstones
In ancient cultures gemstones were meant to be used by the upper classes in society. The “common” population was forbidden to own them. The law enforcement units concluded that these gemstones had been stolen, and the penalty for theft in many cultures was death or in some cases life imprisonment. In many civilizations a woman could not own a precious stone, however, this stigma began to change when women showed a lot more interest in the beautiful rocks than their male counterparts. This gave rise to a whole new industry ‘the jewelry trade.”
For years and years, people have been interested in the history behind the month in which they were born. Each month has a representative flower, a gemstone and a special meaning. While some believe in the Horoscope or the Zodiac, this information is not directly associated. Many people wear rings, bracelets, pendants, or earrings made of their own gemstone and wear them proudly. Do you know the meanings behind your gemstone and what yours is?
