Perfect Way Of Eating Eggs!
I often get confused about the perfect way of eating the Eggs! People have different styles of consuming their eggs!
For me, I always had got my own apprehensions about the eggs and their consumption styles!
Nutritive value Of An Egg!
Before discussing my concern and confusion about the way in which one should consume the Eggs, I would like to share some nutritive aspects of the Eggs that were taught to us when we were in our under graduation.
Eggs are rich source of proteins, with all the essentisl Amino acids required for humans. They provide several vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, vitamin B2, vitamin B9, vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Choline, Iron, Calcium,Phosphorous and potassium.In fact they are a single-food source of protein.
Egg Yolk contains fat soluble Vitamins A, D and E. A large yolk can supply about 60 Calories of energy while a white can have 15 Calories of energy to supply. Egg yolk contains fats and Choline. Choline is important element for development of brain that si why it is stringly recommended for pregnant and nursing mothers to ensure healthy brain development.
I Am Confused !!
As discussed in few of my earlier articles I have got many confusions in my life and confusion about the egg is one of them .
Though egg is a nutritious food,as I said in the beginning of this article I always have my own doubts about it!
They say that a single egg yolk contain more than two thirds of recommended daily intake of 30 mg of cholesterol which makes me scary to have them.
But again some scientists they believe that human body can’t absorb much cholesterol from eggs so I am confusingly relaxed now!
The Eggs are consumed by Sports persons and Body builders in raw form.
They simply break open the egg and pour the content inside their mouths directly!
Some times they are all collected in a container to drink them like any other beverage!
Egg Milk Shakes!
Some times people add the raw eggs to milk to drink it in the form of Egg milk shake! Some times chocolate or ice crème is used to garnish it!
I wouldn’t even dare to think about it as we can end up with the infection of salmonellosis which can be dangerous at times.
Moreover the bioavailability of protein in the raw egg is only 51% as against the coked egg in which it is about 91%! That means it is better to have cooked eggs than the raw ones
Let us see some popular ways people like to cook their eggs! There are numerous dishes of cooked eggs through out the World with lot of variations, let me talk here about the commonly prepared popular ones!
The Boiled Eggs!
Some people like to have plain boiled eggs along with a pinch of salt and pepper sprinkled on them; some don't even require these spices to have them!
They simply relish the boiled eggs like that only!
Omelet is one of the popular form in which most of them would like to have their eggs!
I need talk about the types of Omelets one can prepare from eggs and also about the dishes with which omelets go well
The Scrambled Eggs!
Scrambled eggs are simply loved by some people.
They relish the taste and prefer to stick to have their eggs in this form only!
The Poached Eggs!
Poached eggs are another form relished by some people, though it takes a lot of practice to come out with a perfect pouched egg!
Frying the eggs with onions and spices is another form of egg which remains a popular dish amongst many people!
The above dishes are nice ones but again my apprehension is that, over cooking not only destroys the proteins present in the eggs but also increases the risk of atherosclerosis, a condition where the wall of the blood vessels get thick and inelastic, due to increased oxidization of the cholesterol contained in the egg yolk!
The Way I like My Eggs!
In spite of having so many confusions and apprehesions in my mind, frankly speaking, I like my eggs hard boiled and cooked nicely in the onions and spices after making some slits in the boiled eggs or cutting them into two.
This makes the eggs very tasty and satisfies my appetite apart from providing good nutrition from eggs and also from the spices added to it!
