The true story of Tommy, a 47 year old married man, who thought he had an online relationship with a 18 year old girl, ended in tragedy. I can't help but wonder, if Tommy ever planed on meeting the girl in person. Maybe he thought that she had fallen in love with his personality, and wouldn't care what age he really was, or what he looked like when she met him. Actually, his personality was the only real thing about his relationship with her; the way he talked, his expressions, his style with words, and his laugh. That part was real.
I also wonder about the mother of the 18 year old girl. How could she have put her daughter in harm's way? Her mother gave Tommy her real address. He could have raped her daughter. When Tommy found out about the other man, he could have killed her daughter. I wonder what the mother was planning to do. Did she ever plan on meeting him? What was she going to do if he just happen to stop by the house? I think when her daughter found out what she had done, that she probably lost all respect for her mother. I think that the 18 year old’s mother should have been arrested. Tommy killed an innocent man, and the man’s family is trying to get a law passed that would make what the mother did, illegal.

You have access to each others cell phones, phones, and the phone bills.

Some Russian girls work in studios, and get paid less than 50 cents a minute to be nude. Both the studios, and the chat lines take a portion of her profits. Some of the girls are disgusted and humiliated by the experience, but have to make a living, and can not find any other job. The rest of them have a serious sex addiction, along with their clients. Some couples go on the Chat Lines together for some fun.
The chat lines are ruining people's relationships, and preventing new relationships from developing. They are taking away the human factor of a sexual relationship. Some men learn to prefer pleasuring themselves on a chat line, rather that having real sex with a human being. They may lose interest in their girlfriend or wife. It is also very expensive, so it could be a financial burden on the family.
It always takes away from a relationship when a man is doing something sexual with a woman, whether it is in person, or not, even if his partner never finds out about it. The man is taking a sexual and emotional part of himself, away from his partner. She is no longer getting the whole package. She is getting a relationship with parts missing.

He is spending too much time on the computer.
He doesn't want you to use his computer.
He is being secretive.
He is on the computer at odd hours.
He is on the computer after you have went to bed.
He erases history.
He has a password on the computer, so you can't get in.
He goes to the library a lot to use the computer.
Money is missing from his bank account.
He suddenly is broke all the time.
He doesn't want to spend as much time with you.
He says he's going to bed early.
He is doing some of the same things that were done in the movie, talhotblond.

Good article! The other night I saw the movie Talhotblond, and thought the movie (like your article) served a purpose as to educating people to the dangers (especially the mentally unstable or vulnerable) as to the dangers of 'meeting' people online.
