This is Not the Beginning!
While I want you to stick around, I want to kindly inform you that this is the second in a series of articles on Proverbial Wisdom Found in the Bible.
Consider reading part one, found here, first.
Part one discusses why it is important to yield your strength to God, because an uncontrolled lifestyle is one that is characteristic of a person that lacks common sense.
A popular example is the lottery winner that wins a ridiculous amount of money. A new lifestyle of excessive spending may seem lavish at first, but if not monitored, it can lead to extreme debt. Many celebrities and people that earn well beyond the average paycheck can attest to uncontrolled spending, followed by bankruptcy.
Proverbs is Full of Wisdom
Proverbs 2 shares the moral benefits of wisdom. Wisdom is not just knowledge, but it is something that provides sight into the future.
Don't get this confused with a psychic. I am not encouraging anyone to seek out a psychic. Read about the dangers of psychics and where they get their powers here: Dealing With Demons: What Psychics Won't Tell You.
I am saying that Biblical wisdom will allow you to see the ramifications of your actions.
Proverbs 2 points out two important things that Biblical wisdom will spare you from:
- The ways of wicked men
- The adulterous woman
After all, how many of us have seen peers and former schoolmates whose lives have led them to a jail cell?
And I have seen first-hand friends fall for a woman that is not faithful, yet they are blinded to the truth.
These are two big issues that people without common sense face.
If only they had read and absorbed the Biblical wisdom from Proverbs.
Do You Seek Biblical Wisdom?
Proverbs 2 says this in verses 1-5:
My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding—
3 indeed, if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.
It is very clear from the above passage that Biblical wisdom will not simply fall in your lap. You must seek it from the Bible, and desire it like a treasure.
Note: Most treasures require hard work to find.
Are you willing to put in an effort to gain Biblical wisdom?
Success To Those That Follow God
Proverbs 2 verses 6-11:
6 For the LORD gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
8 for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.
9 Then you will understand what is right and just
and fair—every good path.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
11 Discretion will protect you,
and understanding will guard you.
Squirrels that bury their nuts, don't always find them. In the picture above, this squirrel has recovered a lost acorn, to his success. Likewise, Biblical wisdom must be sought out. An effort must be made, and the reward will be wisdom that promotes success.

God will grant Biblical wisdom to those who diligently seek Him. Use it as a tool to live a successful life, and to avoid people (wicked men and adulterous women) that want to use you and abuse you.
