This article shares why communication with your newborn is crucial to a healthy development and learning process.
Understanding Newborn Development
One of the most important things you can do to help with your newborn's development is to talk to them. Even though your newborn may be little and young, it does not mean that they are not receptive to your voice and the words that you say. While they can not respond in words to what you say, they will show their understanding in other ways. Speaking to your baby in a daily way will allow your baby to learn words, meanings and tone of voice as their brain develops and they grow smarter.
Babies learn to talk by being spoken to. If you do not talk to them consistently, they will not learn the meaning of the language in the way they need to know. Even if they do not understand the words you are saying at first, telling them nursery rhymes or poems repeatedly will make them learn the connections to the words, your tone of voice and the expressions on your face as you share with them. As they grow older and develop more, they will learn to understand what you are saying and laugh along.
Telling your baby what you are doing as you bath him, change his diaper, make him a bottle, or anything else you do will allow him to understand how things are done and what certain items are. You can also make a game of pointing out the things around you and naming them off so he can follow along. By saying these things on a frequent basis, he will be able to learn recognition and understand at a faster rate.
Often times new parents can feel silly trying to communicate with their newborn. Some may not know what to say at all. But it is a big mistake to ignore talking and communicating with your newborn, as this is a time when he will be learning things at the fastest rate of his life. If you do not help him develop by talking to him and telling him how things work or how to do things, he can suffer from developmental delays. Talking to your child no matter what age they are will always help them. If you talk to your baby from the beginning of their lives, they will learn to speak at a much faster pace than otherwise.
Not only will your child learn to talk and understand the world around them if you spend the time speaking to them, you will also be able to use this time to grow a bond between you. One in which your newborn will understand that you are the one who will look after him and be there for him when he needs you. These are all crucial elements for your child's growth and development as he ages.

If you talk in proper adult language you benefit them more than speaking baby talk. Good tips.
