Many celebrities are wearing rockabilly style clothing, stars like Leonardo Dicaprio, Katy Perry and Dita Von Teeser. So what is rockabilly and what is it all about?

The Rockabilly Craze Is Making a Comeback

The term "rockabilly" refers to the rock and roll and country music of the 1940s and '50s, but it is equally associated with the vintage styles of the time. It was an era of make do and mend, of value, and frugality. The 1940’s began with practical styles due to the war, and ended with more extravagant fashions as they celebrated the end of strict rationing.

It was a time that many men and women today refer to as a "classy era." From fedoras to victory roll hairstyles, men and women really knew how to dress it up. The fashion trends of that day are making a comeback and the audience for rockabilly music and clothing is growing.

For rockabilly diehards, the look is much more than a fad, it has become a lifestyle. From swing dancers and movie stars, to your neighbor next door, rockabilly has something to offer everyone. The clothing trends of that day are full of history, fun and class. It was an era that shook up the nation.

So, what are you waiting for? Spice up your lifestyle and closet and have a little fun. Read up on the 1940’s and put a little pizazz in your wardrobe this fall. If you are not certain where to begin, start by checking out some of your local vintage stores. Have some fun this weekend and do a little rockabilly shopping. Just put on your Gatsby cap, grab your favorite gal and head on over to your nearest antique shop and have the time of your life.

The rockabilly craze is making a comeback!
