Islam Encourages Peace
It's the time to see how Islam encourages peace and why do we need and how do we do to stop the conflicts between religions.
Let Us Not Deeply, But Truly Get Into The True Islamic World of Peace.
Here, I want to take about the Peace of Religions. Sometimes, conflicts happen between religions. For example, in the South Ireland, even though the conflict is politically related, but in a fast pace, it turned to a religion’s matter. This is unfortunate. Until now, Shiite Muslims and Sunni Muslims always fight for the so-called ‘truths’. This is unfortunate too. Sri Lanka plays the same story as Ireland – even though it’s a political conflict, many people say that it’s a fight between the Hindis and Buddhists. This is terrible. In the ancient age, people stayed independent and are differentiated among religions. But now, our relations are more connected than the past, so, we have to do something strong enough to protect the peace among the religions.
On the first anniversary of 11 September (911) incident, Washington National Cathedral held a memorial praying. I joined the praying, and the speech delivered stated that this sick end came from four Muslims led by a terrorist, thus, they concluded that all Muslims like wars and are violent. Due to this, these speech delivers spoke on the cultures’ difference between Islam and the west. This is unrealistic.
A few bad-behaved Muslims showing cruelness can’t prove that Islam is a bad religion. This is totally wrong. Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Hindu, Buddha are the same, this is real and true. If a Buddhist killed someone, can we simply say that Buddhist is a religion that encourages killing? No, and nobody would believe this. It has been 2,500 years that Buddhism living in peace, honesty and dignity.
From 911, although I am a Buddhist, I am glad to be a protector of Islam’s name. I have a lot of Muslims brothers – so are the sisters – explaining to me that, no matter who created bleeding incident, he / she isn’t a Muslim anymore. The reason is, a devout Muslim, a real follower of Islam, should love everything like the Allah s.w.t. does. In Islamic view, Allah created all things. If a person follows, loves Allah, he / she should love everything that Allah created. If we truly understand Islam, Islam is as interesting as other religions. In common situations, we could win peace only if we totally understand and respect other religions. So, we should keep on putting hard work on the peace of every religion.
Some people said God does exist, some people reject – this isn’t important at all. The important thing is the causality. It’s the same in every religion – no killing, no stealing, no sexual misconducting and no cheating. Different religions may use different methods to teach, but the target is always the same - it calls for faith and morality. We must see the results, and not the reasons and procedures.
All religions call for the same thing – love, peace and tolerance. We must use an accepted way to improve the peace. For the religious people, their own faiths make them doing the moral things. For the people who do not believe in religions – hate religions – they are not that interested in doing the moral things. This is totally wrong. If you see religions negatively, this is your right. But doing bad things with a reason that ‘there is no religion’ is meaningless. If you do not believe in religions, try to be a good atheist and help protecting the name of atheism.
Firstly, we are born by our mother. Same as the other animals, we are protected by our mother. This is the law of nature. For example, my mother loves me. So are yours, isn’t it? My faithful seed came from my mother, but not from Buddhism entirely. After researching Buddhism, this kind of love grows faster. If I don’t have a lovely mother, nor my mother loves me too much, at this moment, I might not writing this articles, but doing all the sinning things. We need love to live, no matter whom you are, and what religion do you follow.
We must use an accepted way to improve moralities. ‘An accepted way’ doesn’t mean attacking others’ religions, or not respecting them. What I mean for ‘an accepted way’ here is just like the Constitution of India. Gandhi stresses the freedom of religions – she prays for every religion. ‘An accepted way’ means we give the same respect to all religions, no matter whether the person belongs to the same religion as you or not. In the world of globalization and science, we need to use ‘an accepted way’ in order to reach the ‘accepted peace’ and see the ‘accepted result’.
If you are interesting to this article, simply pray on your own and try to experience it yourself. Somehow, somewhere, some when, you will be very glad to pray not only for your religions, but for all the people around the world!
